I just read ACO last semester for school, It was a great read. I netflixed the movie and I only watched some of it. While I did enjoy the movie, I think I like the book better. They have a very different tone, plus the movies left out the last chapter.

Right now im reading Fight Club. Its really awesome. I love the movie so I thought I would give this a try and it is really good.

    Dead Eye Dick
    Mother Night
    Sirens of Titan
    God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater

All of these are outstanding. I've said before that you can not go wrong with any book of his. The man was a genius. It's all in the satirical details.

Okay, I have to admit. I went into a Ta Book reccomendation thread this morning purely for a laugh (which I did get), and am shocked at the about of legit recomendatons there were.

    so..

Seriously. Neil Gaiman, I can't speak enough to his work, each book is different and compelling, American Gods, Neverwhere, Anansi Boys, Good Omens, Stardust, Smoke and Mirrors, Fragile Things, Coraline. Are all worth a read and a few of those are worth multiple reads.

Also I love Clive Barker, for his devlish wit and ability to describe the most sinister scenes and forces. The Damnation Game, Hellbound Heart, Books of Blood, Coldheart Canyon, The Great and Secret Show, Imajica.

I also am a huge fan of Hardboiled Crime from the 30's so I had to mention as other posters have, Raymond Chandler, he created the Character Phillip Marlowe who was immortalized by Hollywood in the film the Big Sleep by Humphrey Bogart.

    yep!

next on my read list is "Soon I will Be Invincible" thanks!
