Osmos is a good example of my love for retina. If I'm given full resolution of what my device is capable of then why not, but do I base my opinion on the app due to lack of retina? No. Sword & Poker I'm sure hasn't been retinaed, but it's gameplay more than makes up for it. Puzzle Agent is the only title I can think of where I've been holding out until the retina update happens, due to the art being blurry. I think this is in context however because the gameplay is looking at backgrounds, environments, and puzzles.
I don't have an iPhone4 yet, so I can't say how much better games look with or without it. but, certainly they can't look that much worse where someone would dock it that much... i don't understand why some people will give a great game 1 star because of a dumb reason. up until now, all the games i've played look good enough given they are for a handheld! just need to make sure you review the games you like so the people who throw around 1 stars because of stupid stuff get drowned out!
Retina is freakin' amazing though. I got my hands on an old iPhone the other day at work, it was hideous on my eyeballs.
Yah I was walking to my car the other day after work and saw this bum with a 1st gen iphone, it was sad - he didnt even have folders.
Yeah I played around with N.O.V.A. on an iPhone 4 in an Apple store and then looked at my wife's iPod and wanted to cry. The Retina Display was so beautiful. hahaha
Sorry for not answering this the other night man, my GC is Mr. SIN But if you have trouble finding me on there, just leave your I.D on my visitors profile on here.
Some people even want the icons updated... [click to enlarge] Do these people not realize how bad they're making the entire community look? Lol. Or just point them over to this thread.
[click to enlarge] So, this guy admits that the game (Need for Speed Shift) is good, but just because it doesn't have Retina Display *drools, worships*, he hits the 1 star rating... Some of you need to practice the art of appreciating what you have, and understand that you're already getting most of these games at a steal. None of these companies are obligated to upgrade their games every time a new display resolution is released.
Star ratings according to Apple: * hate it ** don't like it *** it's ok **** it's good ***** it's great Star ratings according to teenagers: * send a stern message to the developer about my trivial and/or irrelevant concerns ** n/a *** n/a **** n/a ***** the game is new and I'm feeling manic
