Hello everyone! Longtime fan of TouchArcade – it's defo a daily. I'm an artist turned coder who started learning programming about a year and a half ago and wanted to share an iOS game I have been working on. It's about a squadron of pilots journeying to a distant star in hopes of finding some way of stopping an alien invasion. Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Along the way, you have the opportunity to level up with upgrades and weapons that are all stackable and change the gameplay. It's a a challenging game. Depending on the path you choose you may encounter other pilots who will assist you, or who need rescuing, environmental hazards, other undisclosed obstacles, and a boss or two. I just submitted it to the App Store for review today and should hopefully be available on iOS soon and then possibly Android in the future. Thanks for your time. Comments/criticism welcomed. P.s. And on a personal note, as a very visual person, if someone had told me I'd be able to learn how to code and make a game within a year I wouldn't have believed them. For anyone struggling to learn how to code, or think that it's too hard, just know that it gets easier. Keep it up! You'll get there!
OMG, Defenderlike! Defender was one of my favorite games on the Atari 2600. The video looks incredible and the art is awesome. I love it when artist become game developers. What will the price be? I assume F2P but with a new developer you can never tell. Very much looking forward to this either way.
That is simply the best answer I could have received. I don't mind f2p too much, but premium is my preference. Now I just have to wait another week. Thanks for the reply.
Gameplay footage Hey everyone! Finally had time to record some longer gameplay footage. This clip also shows some of the randomized 'rescue' encounters, which are mini objectives that provide score multipliers when successful, and one of the boss encounters. I got hooked into graphics.I like this simple style and soundtrack as well .I would give it a try. Good luck to you!
Thanks . This is the first that I have developed on my own. I've worked on concept art and production art for a couple other games. One was published to the App Store a few years ago, The Seed. There were two developers doing the programming and I worked on the art. https://appsto.re/ca/8s5vJ.i
