Blue Defense! now has a lite version, which gives you a taste of the full version!

    Limitations:

-play up to level 8 in any continuous mode
-level select mode limited to only one of the five orientations

other than that, it's the real deal! quick start mode is enabled, you can see 20% of the levels in level select, and online high scores, music and sound are all in the package.

Try it out, and if you like it you can get Blue Defense! for only $0.99 until February 10th, when the price will go up to $1.99.

    :)

    Happy gaming!

I kind of wish I would have waited for the lite version. Not that the game isn't fun, but as of yet, I have not been able to get past level 7 so the lite version would be fine for me.

Out of curiosity, are there any plans for a lite version of Blue Attack?

Awesome. I loved Blue Attack, but was a little nervous of getting Blue Defense. The lite version will make it or break it.

EDIT: I think if this game wasn't too hard, I'd buy the full version.

    John,
wow, you hand out a big lite.
I know some people even not reaching level 8 :)

Wish you all the best with your games!

Finished the lite version in one attempt / but I'm sure the full game will be more challenging.

Anyway, I thought the demo was fun, so here goes a buck :D

-Correction, I meant I played the first 8 levels and it was quite easy, but the further levels sure gets more difficult :)

This game doesn't really need a lite version, everyone should just buy it.

Maybe in a month or two. :)

but really, $2 is a steal. just read the reviews! :p

:( sad to hear that, but are you going to practice harder? Maybe try out the level select mode, and just plug away at those levels that are too hard for you?

I hope the difficulty didn't completely discourage you...

thanks for the vote, wiesse! :) A $1 asking price is not much at all, but since there's so much shovelware out there, I can't blame consumers for wanting a lite version to test out the software.

It does mean more work for me, though. :(

I could be spending that time on new projects...

I'm still shocked this game even needs a lite version.

Only two games have stayed on my springboard's main page, this is one of them.

    Heck, I'm not even a space-type shooter fan. :p

What are y'all waiting for? Go get the full version! ^ ^

yeah, what I like doing with this game is handing it over to someone who doesn't play many games. :)

most of them just "get" it!

it's deceptively simple, so without even thinking about the strategy, they'll usually make it to level 3 or 4 - and then want to try it again. :)

It's like what Kotaku said about it before christmas - they put it on a list of must-have "social" games, because despite its lack of multiplayer, it was still a good way to get people together to see a cool game running.

Would be extremely cool if Blue Attack and Defend could have some kind of Wifi LAN Co-operative multiplayer though. That would be amazing.

Definitely has not completely discouraged me. I still come back to the game a couple times a day. I was just saying that as of now, I really have no use for the paid version because I cannot get past level 7. Although, I'm glad to give the money to a developer who continues to update his games and listens to the community.

I wish I could easily capture the game footage so I could upload it here and find out what I am doing wrong. I have pretty good reaction time, but I guess I'm just not getting the strategy part of the game.

Either way, I recommend the game to anyone who is on the fence about it.

    Blue Attack! of course. :D

That would actually be pretty amazing.

Amp up the difficulty 2x in order to have 2 streams of fire coming from the Blue Planet as you cooperatively defend from the attacking Red Invaders, one stream of fire controlled by you and one controlled by your partner.

Think of the new strategies that would need to be formed!

That was exactly what I was thinking. It would definately add enough depth to the game to rival Blue Attack! :)

Yeah, I'm terrible at stuff like this. I'm in the category of "creamed before finishing BD Lite". I'll end up buying it regardless because it's well-made and Jakooistra is a developer that I think deserves support. I have already picked up Blue Attack and hope to one day finish the "easy" route :p
