Well, an update hit, but I presume it’s just a bug fix update/something to do with the new data collection stuff on the App Store, but highlights what will come in the big update at the same time. *shrugs*
it already was before this update, i’m playing it since day one on a 6S , and runs like a charm, i’m almost at 70% (it’s more chaotic and and slightly larger than SotN)... still don't know why so many fuss and complaints about it.
Great update, massively improved the experience on my end. Controls feel a lot better, shortcut gestures fixed, and of course smooth 60 fps. Tbh I have only one complaint left, which is the big dead area on the bottom left corner that makes me lose joystick input from time to time (already reported, and they said they'll take a look into that as well). Feels great to enjoy this game finally & properly.
After the ship it seems to be a village and then later i presume the huge castle. Was never going to be just on a ship ! I heard the castles hugeeeee
The ship is essentially a tutorial. The village is part home base, part pathway to the castle. The castle itself is enormous, with an underground/underwater area beneath.
Is there any way to choose which technique for a weapon gets the touchscreen swipe shortcut, where you touch the attack button and swipe in the upper-right direction? I just got a particular story-relevant katana. First technique I learned with it was a powerful slash technique, purely by accident I might add, after which the touchscreen swipe shortcut did the powerful slash technique. Second technique I learned with it was a parry, after which the touchscreen swipe shortcut now does the parry technique. Any way I can change it so that the touchscreen swipe shortcut does the powerful slash technique again, or better yet, have two different touchscreen swipe shortcuts for the two different techniques? I tried manually doing the powerful slash technique again, but it didn't revert what the touchscreen swipe shortcut does.
Just a heads up if you haven't fired this up in a bit. The game's continually being updated through the actual updater in-game (not the App Store). Just last week it got a Jump Assist function among other things. I love NetEase's dedication to making this the best damn game it can be. Looking forward to the Classic Mode, Zangetsu and Bloodless updates. Hopefully they come soon!
That's cool, I was worried that no new updates had come to the game in a while and wasn't expecting in-app updates. Anyone have any idea what "jump assist" actually does? I've toggled from off to "half on" and "fully on" but I can't tell what those mean. Also, any idea when we'll be getting Classic Mode, Zangetsu and Bloodless updates? Does the dev have a twitter or any other channel through which they've said anything about this?
As far as I can tell, when you have jump assist fully on, you don’t have to hold on to the jump button to get the maximum jump distance/height.
Here you go! https://twitter.com/rotn_m?lang=en No clue when those updates will come, but at this rate I'd expect them before Dead Cells iOS gets Bad Seed. >_> Also, @squarezero has you covered re: jump assist. EDIT: Oh, it's known the mobile version is getting all the console DLC too. Think it may be in a trailer? I don't recall where it's mentioned.
So the first DLC update “IGA’s Back” just dropped. But imho the more important is, the touch controls are fully customizable now. And they’ve fixed the dead zone around the joystick, so no more missing input on the lower left corner. Now we’re talking!
Great to hear. Controls is my biggest concern with games like this, as I’m a strong believer that these kinds of games need to afford user adjustment and be free of any weird janky dead zone / free floaty stuff. Great to hear they’ve put more effort in to that.
