No you didn't. You paid to be an early adopter. Almost everything goes on sale at some point and in the appstore's case will likely go free at some point. I'm a cheapskate and most of the time wait for sales. People enjoy being early adopters so they can join in on the discussion and to experience a product when it's "hot". You only got ripped off if you researched said product and it turns out to be different than advertised...not different than expected. Not trying to be rude but that's my take on it.
Starting to sense a Freemium type model here, complete with timers, which explains why SE has made this title free various times. Rubies are the premium currency and given out sparcly, or, purchasable in various quantities with real money. The following items can only be purchased with Rubies: - Battles are timed, and if a battle times out, the only way to continue and complete it is to use an item called a Chronograph. - If you fall in battle you can only recover to complete the battle using a Healing Salve. - Gold Stakes which better help Guild rank and Bloodclan level as well as gaurentee hidden treasure (Very Rare and Relic drops). While Gold Stakes are more designed to enhance the gameplay, I have found the game design geared more towards the common use of Chronographs and Healing Salves. In fact, my second battles of the game easily timed out and required a Chronograph to complete. Fortunately, I was give one to sample. I would love to hear other players imput on their experience with the fore mentioned premium items.
I played this game until the final boss without making a single IAP or even grinding too much. Sure the best weapons can be obtained with rubies but that doesn't hinder progress. I purchased my first ruby weapon far into the game and just because I had a bunch of rubies (I don't have use for them) The only time I used a chronograph and healing salve was early on when I tried a high level boss and I didn't know the game very well. I got my ass kicked. But learning how to upgrade and manage blood clans is where it's at. Once you pick your allies carefully (blood bonus allies for fast leveling up and damage bonus allies for tough boss fights) and upgrade your clans evenly, it's like shooting fish in a barrel. Specially with that Christmas weapon that stuns them for a long time. A good tip is to invest on a ton of iron stakes. I am actually surprised how well balanced this game is. Because fighting doesn't net you just junk, low level weapons. You get some pretty good weapons and gear often. Aaaaand I preferred the old icon.
The new icon can be better, they just need to lose the animie touch, give it a real CGI look. ^ good tips.
Got this game when it went free for the first time and finsihed it without buying any IAP..the timers here are non existent..you can finish a battle long before the timer expire..like playing a 120 sec street fighter game..as for rubies..you dont really need it unless you don't like to farm for equips..and end game equips are far more superior than iap equips you can play the game iap free!
Yeah haha! So intense! Damn haha! Also, I bought this two weeks ago. Would suck if it's turning freemium; but I'm not complaining. It happens, you know? Devs do what they have to, in order to make a profit; that's why they do it, right? Definitely get it while it is free.
