Has anyone unlocked any of the 2 hidden achievements yet? Those are the only ones im missing. EDIT: er... just found out i unlocked 1 of the 2 hidden, and it's Taking Jane into the chapel.
My GC name is Don'tShoot! Goddamit much, Fastbridge, I thought I could relax for the rest of the day...but no. You think I'm going to let you keep your spot At number 2 (score)? It. Is. ON. I never get near the top at any arcade style games, and I'm not letting this one slip away Distance is the biggest challenge; #2 is at over 40,000 meters. I really want to gun for distance, since I don't really know how the scoring works. Obviously, kill all bosses, kill as many monsters as possible, and keep consumables stocked up so you get 3x points for each pickup. But I don't know the details. Someone asked for tips; here's a couple. If you don't feel like facing a boss, especially the ones that come up behind you, just boost away. When the train is flung at you, immediately hang left (as far left as you can go) and jump as many times as you can, then float down heading toward the center. Immediately jump as many times as possible again. If you have trouble here, save a boost to use immediately after you regain control from the mini-cutscene of the train being thrown. Learn how to land on and run along the rails in the very late stages. Get good at landing on the corridors that connect some of the sunken castles, waiting till you are about to run into the tower, jumping and swinging right back when there is another corridor approaching. In the sparse areas, many of the platforms are spaces to land on if you jump at the last moment and don't flap your wings until you are at the highest point of your jump.
What's weird is that i dont see a Don'tShoot anywhere on my GC leaderboards. I do see Fastbridge though.
The top five in score i see is 1 finilark 2 Fastbridge 3 don't shoot 4 widow maker 5 some guy with Chinese writing. Im not sure who you are exact?
Im at #9 currently. My GC is Psience Where it says Don'tShoot on your GC, it says ... on mine. That's weird. Are these both you Greyskull?
I just completed taking all 3 damsels into the Chapel with the clock in it and chose the first option, but no achievement. Sigh. Only thing i havent dont I think is to take all 3 of them into the vortex as i've only taken Shaneela in there.
FWIW, Apple does do something about it if it's reported enough. Just use the "Report problem" feature. Finalark has been removed from a bunch of the leaderboards for games I play, although he (she?) often comes back. Why oh why do people insist on hacking leaderboards? It's not like it's obvious or anything... DBC
Got the game yesterday and after a few starts and stops bobbles and crashes the game is working quite well on my iTouch 4th gen! Excellent graphics and exciting gameplay but my feet are barely wet!! Here I go again playing a game shooting at creatures and kind of loving it When will this madness end
Why do hackers hack? Well I guess because most of them are human!!! And what do humans instinctively do? Compete See how easy it is when you understand human nature Oh! Look who I'm telling that to
IS there a way to get my real name off of Game Center BTW? Privacy reasons and such. I don't want Fastbridge looking up my address and smothering me in my sleep in the middle of the night New run, I think I'll be in #2 again. Currently paused. score:44,498,946 Distance: 24,138 meters. i still need over about 20,000 more meters to claim what I really want, the distance spot.
Thanks for the info. I just edited my posts with the name and removed it. Sorry didnt mean to post a name here.
Ran into a monster (should have used a grenade), the run is done. It does seem as if I improve my game every single time, though. And I'm back at number 2 on the score list. SCORE: 71!,592,200 DISTANCE: 30,129.86 meters I think that will be it for today. Mt goal is 50,000 meters, 100 million points.
Just hit the #4 spot (3 legit) with 34 million plus! This game is much more skill and strategy based then most of the runner games I've played, and that's what I'm really liking about it. The brutal difficulty and weird camera angle at first, progress into enjoyable and dare I say "easy" gameplay the more you play. I almost wish it got a little harder so far in. I felt like I could've gone forever and only died by a silly mistake from lack of concentration. After playing for a couple hours I feel like a champ, being able to land on the top of vertical structural columns and fly from building to building with ease. The random levels are not as random as I thought, and you can easily see what's coming next in survival. Now I'm not saying its not great, just thinking the leaderboards are going to get ridiculously high scoring, hours long runs soon. GG though, and will be proud of my top 3, for as long as it holds.
Your right about it being skill based, and once you get good, you feel like you've conquered this game. That's one of the reasons I love it. Have any of you seem the documentary "Fistfull of Quarters: The King of Kong"? It's the story of the competition between two men, over the course of decades, to break and hold the Donkey Kong (maybe Donkey Kong Jr., I forget) high-score world record. This one guy plays for 8 hours or more straight. He is the King of Kong. Now, I'll never be that good at any game. But I have been damn good at a few; a few arcade cabinets on which I would usually leave my mark, DMG, on the #1 spot. Miss Pacman, Q-Bert, Centipeede, and Pheonix (an old/school vertical SCHMUP). And there was one fighting game on which I could last for hours on one quarter against all challengers, Street Fighter 2 (Championship and Tournament addition to a lesser extent; damn M. Bison players countering my Chun Li game). What do all of those games have in common? They are decades old. I feel like a kid again. One more thing: no matter how good you get at this game, you will die on your best runs by getting stuck behind a chimney.
