Cheers for the response, EP. Much appreciated. Anyway, I'm sold. Downloading now. I'll see you guys on the leaderboards
If you have a jailbroken device, and if you have bought any or all of the wing upgrades, warp upgrades and life upgrades, these upgrades will disappear if the app was closed or reset. They are still unlocked on your savefile, but it wont be showing on the game, like it was reset back to zero. There's also a glitch that just happen on jb devices where if you restart the app, and used Jane (skipping Catherine's tutorial, which has to be done again because of the reset-on-jb-device glitch), Jane's game will not have any ammo pickups.
There are these rare moments where i thought i was going to land on the roof and end up landing short and go straight down the wall to the abyss below. This update should also help in landing on thin walls or on small pillars/platforms accurately. This change doesnt really affect how it is right now much. What it does is that it zooms the game out a bit so you'll have more view of everything during flight and most importantly on landing.
I'm not payed by the Devs, but i say it again for all people out there on the fence - this is NOT another Temple Run etc. clone, this is a new, deep going and exceptional brilliant runner (well and flyer) game. The more i play, the more i'm convinced it's my pers. GOTY. Where i live, i won't get a bier for three bucks (at least in a restaurant) but this will stay forever on your device, eventualy...prais over and out.
Totally agree with this. It's gotten under my skin and blown me away in a way I never thought a runner could do. And it's far more than "just a runner". I've thought of Gene Effect as my early GOTY choice, but even with the issues some have raised, I'm totally addicted to this and can see it easily in contention for my GOTY.
I'm thoroughly confused. I just made it to the temple with Catherine. Made it into survival mode and died. How do I enter this vortex thing. How do I unlock characters without buying them. Please somebody tell me what's going on. You can pm me if you want. I just want to know an I missing something?
So would you recommend saving up for Shaneela or getting the third perma-wing upgrade first? I'm using my gun and killing enemies. The problem is since I'm jumping from roof to roof, a lot of times I kill the enemies when I'm just about on top of them. And don't get a chance to get the coin they drop. Been trying to be a little more aware of that though and have gotten a few 20...50 coin drops. Maybe my play style just isn't working.
I unlocked Shaneela after I got the final upgrade for the wings, but it isnt really necessary to get that final upgrade as you can get a temporary (for the rest of the run iirc) upgrade to your wings from Orb drops. I suggest getting Shaneela first as she will be the one giving you the most gold. Your problem of being on top of the enemy when they die will be solved. Just dont shoot when there are coins. For some reason they disappear when you do.
Thanks. I'll work towards that. It is kind of a strange game mechanic to have the coins disappear if you shoot them.
Really? I must've been extremely unlucky then, I've only seen wings drop when I didn't have them, they stopped dropping for me when I got my first wing upgrade. Occasionally do see empty orbs, guess those might've contained them.
I would get the wings first, but I agree, the Mermaid is a money machine. She is also insanely powerful. She was the first character I unlocked, and a world of difference it makes. In between jumps you can charge and release her weapon which will kill everything in sight, and I think might even wipe out some enemies who haven't come into view yet. But yeah, you'll rake in the dough with her. After shooting a charged blast, you'll have an obstacle (well, except for the environment) free path to gather pickups while not being distracted by enemies. She also doesn't need ammo, so you can aim your jumps for cash and powerups instead.
Hey Exact-Psience, wasn't that you I just bumped down from the top score spot Forget that guy at #1, that's a fake if I've ever seen one. It takes a awful lot of concentration to put that run together...now I'll save up for the clock and see of I can end up with a better score that way. Does anyone know how many points you get for killing enemies, though? That 3x multiplier won't make up for those lost points if it's quite a bit.
Nah. You'd still get the highest scores with Shaneela than with the (distance+grenade kills)x3 when carrying the clock. Unless were not aware of some higher base distance score inside the vortex. Spoiler But im not sure if we can take a clock inside the vortex. I think there's only one way to find out.
Nah... Im currently #8. and my highest score is just 14M+. Congrats getting 34M... that's you, right?
Yeah...and it was probably the longest (in terms of time spent) endless-runner run I've ever managed. Of course, I died in a dumb fashion...ended up boosting into a corner. I use boosts for when I'm about to die; I don't know if this is obvious, but boosts both replenish your jumps and can be interrupted, which is the key for a long distance run. In other words you can jump 4 times, boost, and then cancel the boost with a jump, while having 3 jumps left. You can even boost against a wall you're slipping down just to refill your jump meter.
Nice. I didnt realize boosts reset the jump counter, but i do use it to adjust my position whenever i think im gonna fall off.
