In my opinion, Equipments are really useful and almost mandatory to finish a run.
For those who are stuck or trying to progress, here are some strategies/combos I have found useful through my runs:

The combo of Staff of Chaos + Holy Guardian helps a lot in long fights. Staff of Chaos deals 2dmg per discarded card and Holy guardian brings 2 cards from the discard pile at the end of the turn. You can supplement this by using Punch Gloves that will sometime deal 4dmg instead of 2. In this conformation, you need a lot of card. Technically, you can only have 1 Staff and 3 Holy guardians in your deck but you can have more if you use some "duplication" cards such as Inspiration or Recast, Burried secrets. Search cards like Treasure Bag, Weaponize, Bookmark or Waste Picker (quite random) will help you get the Staff earlier and you could just enjoy the show afterwards.

For a more defensive solution, Staff of Order + Holy guardian is also a nice choice. You can also supply it with some healing skills like Heal, Self Heal or Flash Heal (my favorite because it infinitely stays in your hand). Bear in mind that some enemies bypass the shield so relying only on defence hoping that Death will kill the enemies is not a wise choice.

You can mix the Staff of Order + Chaos + Holy guardian if you are really lucky but keep in mind that the staffs cost 3 energy and Holy guardian 1 energy. So you will have to use at least 3 turns if you are lucky and you have to stay alive all this time without shielding yourself and also hoping that you don't discard the Holy Guardian cards (the staffs have the recycling attribute meaning that they will be back in your hand if they are discarded).

Burnout effects are also a fun way to play (state when you have more cards in the discard than draw). First because it is quite easy to reach this state using Reckless action (discard cards until you kill the enemy and deal 2dmg per card, this requires some calculation though), Blood Guard (discard cards until Burnout and gain 1 armour per card discarded) or just having the Crown of Burnout (allows to activate Burnout state anytime). Once you reach this state you have a multitude of ways do deal with it. You can deal some serious damage with Blood Blade, Shadow Bold or Soul Catching Arrow. Or if you got Equipements such as Barbarian axe (drawn cards cost -1 energy), Cloak of Shadows (+2 energy), Fiendish Codex (draw 2 cards), you can do some serious burst damage.

On a more general recommendation, try to have a Holy Grail (immune to Destroy) in your inventory because some monsters actually destroy your cards (remove them definitely from the deck for the combat) , either directly from the drawing deck or when they are discarded. And the worst is that most of the time, these monsters are using Hidden so you can't attack them before you killed every other enemies.
A nice thing to have is also the Crystal ball (+1 energy), Tome of Knowledge (draw +1) and Hero's Sword (+2 attack every turn). You will definitely need that 1 energy and drawing more cards mean that you will draw the needed ones faster.
Cards like Invincibility and Dynamic Guard (Invincibility + Dmg reflection) are always nice to have in your deck, be it for bosses or normal enemies. You should pick them as soon as you can and duplicate them.
Yes "Duplication" is always interesting to have. It artificially increases the number of cards in your deck (so more "HP") but it also allows to double the amount of unique cards so that you can have even more copies of a card. Meditation is also a fun card allowing you chose a card in the discard and replace all your hand with this card. Really powerful with some combos.
And last but not least, don't hesitate to delete cards (it costs 10 gold per card discarded at the shop). Even if it decreases your "HP", you will be able have access to more powerful cards and not waste some precious energy on useless cards.

Well just like Pirate Outlaws you have the same pool of cards for all 5 characters.
But this time it encourages you that have a much larger number of cards in your pool since it is also your hp. You only have one character per run unlike Silent Abyss.
It really is like your Dream Quest, StS, Pirate Outlaws, Lophis Roguelike but with a couple of original twist.

It also have a little Dungeon maker in it.
In the sense that every time you beat the game or kill death, you can add debuff so the run is harder.

pretty good game in my opinion
