Try changing the bloodbros.ipa into a .zip. If you have a PC/mac. Just copy tr like IPA to the desktop, then change the last .ipa into .zip. Then open/extract the bloodbros.zip and see if you can find anything.
What about adding all the MAME BIOS files in the folder. Try add them, this emu might depend on them..
same here, seams a blocked mame. if you still have Gridlee installed, you can see that has the same folders system, a gridlee.zip on docs, and the same file on main app folder, as well as a main 75 mb gridlee file (also this one has the same pattern, included a 75 mb bloodbros file on main folder). so i guess it should be work, unless it's a blocked emu.
The boy's just stuck another mame port on of a game called Street Hoop. I actually wonder if he's just adding roms using seleuco's program and locking them to make a fast buck. I'm on a long business trip this week so won't find out until the week after but like a sucker I've just downloaded street hoop too.
That's what I was wondering today too. Set something up to look mame and charge 2.99 for it knowing people are going to buy it because try think they're getting something more.(just a thought though, not saying that's what he did) I hope it is an emulator...anyways... Does this game play like the arcade? I heard the street hoop was like slow motion. If I'm going to buy this game I want it to run like the arcade.
Only tried on 5S but Street Hoop plays perfect, as does Blood Bros. Neither are bad games either but I won't be spending too much time with them.
I dont mind, thats the risk i took. I could have waited to see if masses of websites mentioned a hidden emulator, instead i thought i would give it a go. Yeah its 2.99 but its '2.99'. You win some lose some. On the other hand i'm tempted to report it to Apple for copyright as its not like hes got permission for these games ! Its funny, Apple are normally strict about emulators, yet this game has a MAME folder structure, the game is basically a ROM , its not like the guys created the graphics and code, he doesnt have copyright. Yet Apple allow this to pass through ?! Edit - Saying that i might try and get my money back as its the principle. Its a 'bit' scammy, the guy has no copyright over the games and the lack of support is frustrating, you cant even contact the dev. The guy could probably release every MAME game one by one and Apple probably wont do anything ! But release a MAME emulator and they shut it down in hours !
You could be on to something. That is a good point of how they allow one by one release of roms but not an emulator. Maybe this is the only way we can get/sneak classic games past/through the App Store. Hey, I say let the guy release more and more roms. At least this way we are still supporting some old classics and it's up to us if we want to pay for them Now dev, release donkey kong and some vertical/horizontal shmups(classic dodonpachi would rock), Haha.
Yeah it 'could' be good but on the other hand if its 70 meg for each game its a bit OTT, one thing i love about retro games and MAME are the filesizes are soooo small. Perhaps hes testing the waters before trying some bolder names, frustrating you cant contact him though
Seleuco got back to me to say this "could be. File size. Same art. Not related with me. I would never ask for money." I've asked him again if he can look into the app structure and find out if ROMs can load within the app.
I'll be surprised if you cant add games at all due to the folder structure. Then again the way the devs released two now suggests it might be locked down. I'm happy with Gridlee but i am intrigued to know if this is something similar or not. I've deleted it for now as it was taking up 70 meg
I'll try and side load into Street Hoop later this evening when I get to where I'm going. If that doesn't work I'd even like to extract the controller support and multiplayer form Blood Bros and add that to Gridlee.
Well this app just now dropped in price about 30 seconds ago. :-| hmmmm weird. It's as if whoever released it is reading this thread and said oh no I better drop the price, they're on to me. Haha. Guess it's a download for me now. I really hope it ends up being something more but as mentioned before in above comments, it seems it isn't. Prob just locked down copies Please dev prove me wrong.
Again i'm a bit annoyed that they've got a 'fake' contact address, click on the URL to go to their support and the page doesnt exist. To me that screams 'scam' a bit. I'm not one to talk as i LOVE retro games from the 80's, MAME etc. But i'm not the one charging a few dollars to basically steal it. If a MAME game comes out legitimately (Eg Double Dragon) i'll buy it to support the people who have licensed it properly. But this is a bit of a joke, charging a few dollars and basically stealing and selling the MAME rom one at a time (At least do 20 or so in one app !).
