I have a jailbroken iPhone with a memory meter in the status bar. I see a ~10mb drop once I exit the game (the system retaining my last game) but other than that no drop in memory.
Well, I have a jailbroken iPod Touch 2nd gen, vs. your 3GS. The 3GS being the more powerful device, I would guess it wouldn't drain too much memory @bone_rate Yeah it drains a lot of battery too
