I'll be back with a review later. Also, if anyone has played a good number of these Ace of Spades types for iOS, is there one that ultimately beats them all? Much obliged. nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #5 nightc1, Mar 11, 2013 It's always a roll of the dice with these kinds of games. The game is powered by Unity. There's a Map Editor, Singleplayer, Multiplayer & it appears to have GC Leaderboards. Single Player is pretty bad because the bots are stupid. Multiplayer uses GC to either match with friends or random folks. Single player did show that you can choose your map. So I went into the map editor and checked that out. The first 3 maps can't be edited... but scrolling past that, I could add a new map... did that. Overall the map editor is pretty flaky. It doesn't register block placement very well. Often just trying to move (virtual stick) it's easy to accidentally place a block. It's also easy to sit there and keep tapping a spot and no block is created. Honestly it's pretty bad. The aiming and shooting is a bit off because of the tendency for the player to end up looking down because of the shoot button and how sensitive the area is outside the button for camera movement. I'm not sorry I tried it. You never know, it could have been awesome. It just needs a lot of work before it's something ready for the masses. I think this is one to lock in the license and if it every changes to something good then you already own it. There's so many of them out there right now, I wouldn't even know which to choose! A lot of them are highly rated due to the average customer not giving too much of a damn, or they have fake reviews. This is the first of the sort that I have now, and it will most likely stay that way. I don't really want to pay for one of them, only to find out that it is utter garbage. This is free and that will do for me. Like nightc1 said, if it gets to be a better one, I have it, and I got it for free! The app going free could be a bad sign, though. Perhaps the dev just gave up or doesn't care anymore. They may have made their buck or two, and now they're done. But here's to hoping that's not the case. Unfortunately, it currently runs terribly on my i4. Hopefully it's better for those of you with newer devices. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
