I hope moderator to look at this matter. kinda frustrating when purchased equipment didn't show any boost on selected attributes. In btw loves the new updates as I using ipad mini and really hope this matter solved too
I noticed this as well with the Plate Armor. It shows VIT+5 on the character screen but my starting HP and shields were still 36 and 3 on Hera. Couple other questions: 1) Is it intended that items bought with gold in a run do not apply to you character at the time? The run where I bought the Plate Armor it didn't show as equipped and also didn't effect my stats. 2) I was surprised to see that each run you have to pay Starblocks to re-unlock items you have previously unlocked. Plate Armor costs 7 to use which is pretty spendy for a one time use. I believe quests are limited so at some point Starblock income will drop and make using items much more difficult if this is the case. Finally, really enjoying the game and appreciate your hard work on it Alvin!
Also just had a game crash after finishing a long run I don't think it recorded my score as it crashed when it was just about to tell me the score.
So a little explanation on the shield system. I based it off of a game called Dungeon Raid. Which works as such. For each damage you defend by breaks a shield. However, you have a base 50% chance to save each shield from being broken. It's a bit more complicated than I let on originally in the tutorial. For example, the samurai has a skill where you have a 75% chance to save shields. That's why if you play as him shields don't seem to go down as much. Equipment has actually already been addressed but I'm wondering what else I can add in for you guys as well (it's Cherry Blossom season soon over here...hmm). A new update will come out soon with some much needed balance fixes as well. Witch and magic needs to be nerfed so bad! So, I did a presentation during Bitsummit about the development of this game if any you guys are interested in checking it out. It's been a rough ride haha. http://www.pechakucha.org/channels/bitsummit/presentations/block-legend
Thank you so much for the explanation! It was really killing my OCD that the shields were unpredictable
Well, after days and days trying to get a grip... I find Block Legends to be repetitive and too slow for me. Its the same thing over and over again... Maybe its because I bought Dungeon Raid the next day after I bought Block Legends, but Dungeon Raid is so much better in every way as the special skull enemies are different to each other. Every boss skull has different unique abilities. And the gameplay is faster and more meaty. I wish Dungeon Raid got a sequel or an HD update... The good thing about Block Legends is that I finally bought Dungeon Raid.
Gotta agree with The Frost on this one. It's not that I don't like the game, it just feels like its missing something. Like what's the reason behind playing it? Usually it's to level up a character or to get the best equipment possible, seems neither of those are options in this game. So does Dungeon Raid function properly for iOS 7? Read the thread and saw people were experiencing crash problems with iOS 7.
Fangbone, I bought it and no crashes or anything like that so far, butter smooth, iPhone 5 iOS 7.1. It has black borders but is very minor as you will be focusing a lot on the battle. A really like Dungeon Raid, I think you will do too
I have to admit I had Dungeon Raid from day 1 and loved it and it just kept getting better and better with updates and then one day sadly they stopped and it doesn't fill my screen anymore : ( it's one of my favourite all time iOS games if not the favourite. But they are seperate games and I do still like this game and don't feel like it was a wasted purchase or anything like that, I'll still keep playing more and seeing how well I can do and who to unlock next. Dungeon Raid didn't start out as awesome as it is now it was gradually updated but like this it started off with a great idea.
Apologies if this has been explained before, but I'm currently stuck with three goals that keep coming back around even after I've used NPCs to clear 'em, so I should actually complete them: - Clearing more than 15 gold tiles in a single move. Does this mean 15 individual gold tiles, or is the number changed by the character's dexterity? - Clearing more than 30 shield tiles & then 30 gold tiles (two separate goals) in one battle. Is there a trick to this, like using a special character or upping a certain skill, or just drawing out the battle long enough to get lucky? Thanks. Also, anyone found a list of all the characters, or is that still a mystery? And anyone have a favourite (I see Witch is popular, I like her as well)?
To the dev : I encountered another bug, I was sending a spell to break all matching blocks and the game crashes. When I relaunched the game and played the saved game, I was back in level 1 So bad that I love this game, hope you'll fix those problems in the next update !
Not sure how I compare high scores (can I?) - just notched up 1.72m using Tony Miaow. The agility buff scales nicely mid-game. Killed by a lvl44 yeti with 105 attack (got him down to ~100hp, but just ran out of green & red at the wrong time). Great game overall. In terms of strategy, I focus on int for damage, and try to save swords for xp. Tony Miaow has an agility bonus, which gives an extra turn every 5 levels or so - this scales really nicely from lvl15-30, tho diminishing returns after that. I try to maintain vitality so I can take a couple of hits from the end boss, but after lvl 35+ you need some serious board setup (in the fight with the mob before) and board management skills - particularly in terms of keeping some hearts racked up. Bugs - some items don't work (eg. Vitality buff). A couple of annoying crashes still in - eg. Using certain cell destroy items, the score screen after 'regions explored' after lvl 20 (too many mobs killed?). But I think lots of replies in this thread already cover these, and the crashes generally only push you backs couple of levels. Some possible thought: - a mode which is based on time rather than turns would be good. - not sure if tony miaow is op, but late game (lvl30+) can be a bit samey, difficulty curve could be higher - would be nice to have items / spells which scale.
I have a question about combo system in battle mode. When and how do combos work? I tried to tap blocks in a low quickly, however, combos sometimes happen and sometimes don't happen.
Hi Alvin. I love the game - or what I've seen of it so far. Unfortunately the title/select screen with the tiles swirling by in the background makes me physically ill. I wish I could say I was being hyperbolic, but I actually ended up laying in bed nauseated after trying to spend my starblocks. Is there any way you can add a setting to disable that flying background of tiles? I know that might be asking a lot but I can't imagine I'm the only one with that issue. Until then I don't really want to run the risk of playing the game again. Thanks for making a fun game!
My wife figured this out. You always have to go smallest (or equal) size to largest group of blocks. This combo will raven carry across after the enemies attack. Really handy when you are around level 24 and bosses are 300+ hit points
