We're looking at a small resurgence of classics. Good time to be an iOS gamer, when the original hits are old enough that their sequels start carpet-bombing our digital tastebuds
Something like $1.99-$2.99 I believe... don't quote me on that though - we'll have more info once we submit for review!
I wonder if we'll see any shots of BF:Wars any time soon... I know they said major info dump after BH2... but, be great to get this forum topic on top as well! I do not know what I will be doing in March, with these two major releases... sheesh!
Too much, though, too much goodness! Both games are going to be wildly deep, what with discovering the abilities of 25 different heroes, right combinations in BH2 and THEN here, discovering how to work each of the heroes and the FIVE different races and then... PHEW. Hope Foursaken's returns on releasing the two games so close together pays off. They got my money, that's for sure.
I wished.... I wish there was the same contest going on for this game that is going for Bug Heroes 2.
It's different because this one isn't free to play. I wouldn't use a promo code for this even if I was given 10 because I want to buy it
Just wanting early access... I'll gladly drop, as I always do, some "tip jar" money by buying several dollars worth of IAP.
"Finally, players will create and customize their army "creep" squads (each army is unique to the race you choose), choosing from an assortment of equipment and abilities. Creep squads are not directly controlled, but will behave intelligently according to the equipment you give them." Does that mean, you setup, before a battle, the equipment your guys use? Or, as a new batch gets ready to launch out from your barracks, that you can quickly assign new equipment? Have some "tanks," "fast melee types," etc.? In the screen shots, too, the strategic points captured are not overly complex bases... I wouldn't expect you'd have much time to build a fortification with huge armies charging.... I thought about vs. play in the original Block Fortress and finally came to the conclusion, it simply would be tough base vs. base. Whoever built the first howitzers, lasers, orbital lasers, etc. and started blasting across the map at the other base would win easy.
You set up each tier of your army during the game. Units will continue to spawn with the equipment you give them until you decide to change it (which you can do at any time). There are a certain degree of 'hard counters', so the amount of equipment switching will depend on the enemy race, hero, and their equipment (as well as how often they change up their equipment). And yes, you're correct - the bases in BFW are not as complex as BF, namely because there is a much greater focus on units, equipment, and hero control. In single player the game pauses to give you time to build, but in MP its an on-the-fly build. Generally, its much more about a functional defense than huge elaborate structures. Also remember that in BFW you're actually fighting to destroy something as much as you are defending it. Also, turrets don't shoot other blocks in BFW bc you're right, it would just become a race to the longest ranged turrets for the win Not to mention some races like Zomblocks have weaker ranged turrets anyway (bc they rely on their totems to buff their units).
