Equip Targeters on all your units, have level 2 and 3 units with Miniguns as well, since they can do huge amounts of damage to the big Zoms. Also, build sp,e towers consisting of 50 Cals at the tops, and some flamers on the bottom (elevated up by two, protected by a wall of level 2 or 3 blocks, but only one block high), but don't build at the furthest Power Block. Let that be a timesink to the Zoms, since it is what they shall most likely target first.

Use General to support your units as well. Do all this, and you should be fine.

Yes I beat level 5 of Gobbo
Near the end when the last wave of Goblocks spawn I had no defense near my barracks so the Goblocks that spawn near the start were going to destroy it but I had a air strike saved up that I used to destroy their barracks just after they spawned

I do need help for Zomblocks level 5 now that it's beatable

I just unlocked Engineer, and he is pretty rad. Basically acts like General, except boosts turrets, can EMP blocks to weaken defenses, and can further boost turrets with his Power Boost active.

Of course he is softer, but his Assault Rifle does put out sustainable DPS.

Make sure that you play each planet's first mission before going on to the second of any planet. Generally speaking, a higher level on any one planet will be more difficult than a lower level on any planet (plus, Gobbo 4 is one of the toughest). The game cautions you about this, and they aren't kidding when they say it gets much more difficult. Without having earned enough minerals to buy the proper equipment, most, if not all, top tier levels are basically un-winnable.

Also look through these forums for pointers on base construction and tips on individual levels, or even ask your own questions. After awhile you will even develop your own strategies.

    I hope this helps!

I would like to know opinions from all of you who call this mission hard. I didn't have problems with Gobbo 4. I'm not saying it was easy but it was very far from impossible (3 tries). Note this is from previous version where it was harder. I would like to know your opinions on Planet Z (Zomblocks) mission 5 playing as block man. (With goblocks it was easy) - this was really hard. I don't call anything hard until I beat it, becouse a mission being hard and not knowing how to beat it is a huge difference. Don't get me wrong, I was the one who doesn't know how to beat it either but this doesn't make any mission hard. And now when I finally did it, I still do think it was challenging as hell

Total agreement. Gobbo 4 came and went without much fanfare (even prior to the update). Once the update hit I went straight to Zom 5 and just got wrecked about ten times in a row. Still can't clear it with scout and with both general and engi it took me +30min to get the clear.

Flamethrowers are definitely key but man once that third tier opens up (ready or not!) it really gets tough. Honestly I had to use the consumable power-ups to clear it. Really glad defeats award minerals now.

Hands down it's the most challenging mission, in my opinion.

I feel like the enemy heroes in that mission have too much hp and start spawning too quickly. because of the missions nature their heroes should have reduced hp/level and maybe a bit more time till tier 2 and 3 start spawning against you because i have to bum rush to even destroy the teir one building before teir two starts.

i also feel like the sniper's landmines are too weak, if they dont alreay they should scale with his level.

Also foursaken just an idea but maybe make it so a stuned hero is immune to more stun effects and for like .25 seconds after it goes away cause when i did the b'ock and blockoids missions i got stun locked serveral times, those missions were still beatable but every time i was stunlocked i did lose the mission.

The enemy heroes are not difficult even though they are level 12-15 (Difficulty 4 and 5, respectively) in those missions. They're still rather easy to have their weaknesses exploited since the only stat increase they ever get (afaik) is Health, and that's it.

I even beat the Blockoids 5 mission with mostly my units and turrets with every other race (Playing as Gobs was really intense, though). The enemy heroes there get 3-6k HP (3250 with Psychic, 4775 with Dreadnaught, and 6247 with Ancient), and I still beat them without much of any trouble.

The only mission I ever really consider to be difficult would be Blockbots 5 as Block Men. Goddamn that second wave. Still punches my face into my skull almost 60% of the time.

Completely agree with the TA review in that they can't recommend the single player game due to imbalances. I found it too frustrating to play. The TA review sums up what I and many others have said that the game is imbalanced in single player and needs fixing.

Pre-update I had a horrible time beating it. The massive spawn of units after the forward base is destroyed, several of which would just about one-shot my walls, wrecked me hard every time. I even used Explosive's guide (thanks so much for those by the way, total life saver on several missions) so I had at least *a* tactic that should have worked. I just couldn't beat it. Post update I beat it immediately and then went on to beat Zomblock 5 on my first try. I think different people just generally have different issues. My particular comment was based off of the fact that I read many other comments referencing the difficulty of that particular mission.

*Edit* My apologies to Explosive, who I previously referred to as Explosion.

Just build a 12-block-high tower (12th block needs to be a turret. Max range) at the barracks, and put up a long wall lined with flamer turrets and level 2 (or 3, I recommend level 3 blocks more, however) blocks as the buffer line. Use General, or Engineer, and keep with your teammates. For your level 2 and 3 units, make sure they have Miniguns (As those are particularly powerful against the Radioactive and any other Zomblock, though AoE weapons on them work well). For level 3 units, although not needed, I recommend putting on Ammo Packs, and Sergeant as well.

The big wave when you reach that area is almost impossible to fend at the chokepoint. You can, however, kill the distracted horde using level 3 blocks to keep them at bay. Let your soldiers do most of the work, and make sure you have Air Strike available. This is one of the best opportunities to use it, and it will almost always ensure massive devastation against that horde. (Also great for leveling your general, too.) Engineers will have a very difficult time here, but I found Power Source (or whatever his first ability is) to shine here, too.

    If you're General:
Make sure your units back you up. Stay with them, and when you push up to the chokepoint just before the two remaining Barracks on Zom side, keep your General in the area, but NOT into the Cursed Totem. Having your General inside it will eventually decrease his health to miniscule amounts. If you're near the totem pole with the Cursed, you can activate Air Strike and target that Totem. If you need to, use it on enemy spawns to give yourself some breathing space. Two strikes are all that you need to (at least) destroy the Totem base or the cursed totem. When that totem is dead, push on just a little. The next Totem has a highly damaging totem. You will need to get in its range to strike it, so move up just a few AFTER it fires at a unit. Again, two strikes, and that totem is dead.

    If you're Engineer:
Do the same thing as the General, except stay further behind your units, and make use of the Turret Kit at the chokepoint's walls to provide further firepower against the zoms. You will need to be inside the range of the Cursed Totem to be able to EMP it. When you can, disable that totem and let your units come in and do the destruction. Again, do the same to the totem with the Acid Geyser (The extreme damage one), and it should be down relatively quickly. Because you can EMP one totem at a time, it is highly recommended that you equip your units with Jetpacks so they can ignore much of the terrain and the wall surrounding the level 2 Barracks. Units will often stick around shooting constant zom spawns, and will almost NEVER reach the totems in time before they die.

Wall of text here, but I hope this helps you out.
(It took me 20-30 mins doing it this way, but it worked.)

Any advice for Planet Z level 5 as Goblocks? Nothing I've tried seems to be effective, and I keep getting rushed before I can clear the first base and totem.

    Guess what? Classified.
    Classified.
Ok, I consider myself to be pretty nooby at this game, and was just wondering what is the ideal construction. Eg 2 high tower with a flames on top one block in front of a 5 block high tower with a 50. Cal on it

I've done this level with 4 teams and goblocks was hardest for me. I had best success going for this setup and using mg turrets early on while having your da boss hero help kill the brute. Make sure to activate adrenaline as much as you can so this gives your turrets and flamethrowers time to focus him down.

When you reach T2 sell all the mgs, place a line of t2 or t3 blocks at the front then as much big gun turrets as you can build. For equipment I used flamethrowers/helmet - big guns/bigger ammo - disintegrator. When you hit t3 you want to get a few launcher turrets as well and then you need to push forward with the help of sky team placed at the totems to help destroy them.

    Tip for Ranged Heroes:

For any hero with decent range you can safely take out most of this totem from these 2 spots as well as being able to fire at the base.
