Block Fortress: War is like a puzzle with multiple solutions. Different combinations of units and turrets + your ability to control your hero can win every mission. Sending out the right waves with the right equipment for different scenarios each map... It's one of my favorite RTS'ish games. These new updates for this game and Bug Heroes 2 better get here before my new daughter is born (this will be #3!) or I will be too busy to enjoy them
Does anyone else miss the older targeting option? Its more bothersome to tap each unit to target now.
Finally the patch, I really like some of the updates (especially added recource stream for every controlled note (I can properly dig in and camp it out when I want now ). Only the game is even more unstable as it was before. I cannot get thru a lvl without the game crashing on me. Also, it seems that some of the levels have a different progression throughout as before. As an example: before even touching the first barracks of the first enemy barrack, that invisible curtain gets lifted and I'm upon the next (full fledged) wave (including lvl 10 pissed off bausses). While my base hasnt even reached lvl 2.. So, instadeath, no matter what I do. Whats up Forsaken? Thanks for the free new hero abilities (wich I used, for a game that crashed ofcourse), but I would really like to play this game now. Bought two large shipments allready (and happily did so) to continue playing the game because 'Planet Z' final mission was bugged. Please not another "endless" wait for next patch. Wich will hopefully contain just that.. Endless mode.. But first..the crashes... please, and thank you.
Yeah, I miss that too, too much hassel to select every unit. No way to also controll your hero at the same time
Actually one of the things i didnt like about the previous system was they my hero also listened to the orders. I wanted my hero to attack certain things while my jetpackers killed the back lines. not my hero attacking the back line and turning it into the front line.
Yup yup. Exactly. Maybe if select mode would also pause the game, and give the option to point out targets for certain groups or wave lvl# and your hero, ceperately. Like when you select the target you get multiple checkboxes for the different troups) That way you get way more controll out of the select mode. Right?
As always, thanks for the feedback guys. TBH, we hope the current targeting system will end up as a first step toward implementing a more fleshed-out unit-control system. If we do add user-created levels, etc. then we want to provide a more precise option for unit/squad control (with your units acting as they do now if you do nothing to control them). Right now, we're thinking this would include ways to quickly select groups of units (as opposed to being limited to single-unit selections), and then have them defend an area, attack a target, or reset to their default attack behavior. Of course we'll see how this all pans out, but I just wanted to let you all know that this is on our radar.
This sounds excellent, it would add depth to the strategy and flexibility to the base construction imo. Enjoying this and Bug heroes 2 more than any console game right now, thanks and keep the awesomeness comin' guys!
Tom, Being able to create my own user levels/campaings..... That would take an already amazing game and make it amazing-er. I think the ability to touch on a unit, then immediately click on the target vs. having to hit target, would run a little smoothie, IMO. The emphasis, obviously, is on your hero and letting the creeps creep... but it sounds like more robustness is in your minds
No, thank you. I am so oblivious to what it takes to implement new things in a game.. But I think you have a true gem of a game here, with muchos depth (allready), that I hope you keep scaving at it. Appreciate the feedback, and am interested what sort of thing are under the said radar. Keep up the good work.
The crashes are fixed in the next update as well. And Zom 5 is working as intended. The curtain lifts when the Overlord speaks out "We will rise soon." You will just need some extra defense against that wave. It can be frustrating at first, but Flamer Turrets can save your hide against the horde.
I want to know if anyone is capable of beating Planet Z lv 5 as scout cause i feel like it isn't possible in the slightest he cant take any hits to hold out or kill the brute fast enough and he can just plow through and do a bunch of damage to your first resource node. also i fought a radioactive in multiplayer. I call bs. he just full heals when ever he gets low and just runs a blitzkrieg into your base and your pretty powerless to stop him due to lack of minerals.
Yeah, lvl 5 Zom with scout is pretty rough. Think laying mines is going to be the key. But mines are a total crapshoot. Also would be cool if scouts lvl 5 skill wasn't targetable. Not sure if that would disrupt multiplayer, but man it's tough to use in campaign.
