Yeah, I agree with this 100 percent. I bough this yesterday in the morning, and was pleasantly surprised with the new MOBA-like gameplay. Foursaken, you should add a video creator/recorder into this game... I could make some sweet movies.
Hey guys - I've got some answers to your questions: Nope - since they are persistent, you will now start the game with a few of each to use whenever. People that update will get them, too. I'm not sure how this is possible, but shoot us an email, and we'll get you a restore code (you might have already, in which case I'm going to get back to you in a sec)... This is changed in the next update and is probably the biggest factor (along with increased build areas around mineral nodes) that will make the game easier. Besides for Gobbo 4 and 5, there has been no other nerfing of missions. However, you should now have a lot more flexibility in building your defenses and a slow mineral trickle from captured nodes that will allow you to repair damage after the big attacks. These two things really make a big difference in game play and imo make the campaign a lot more strategic and enjoyable. D'oh! We're looking into something like this - including user-created missions... Every time four units from a tier die within its radius, the last one is resurrected. And yes, if four t1 and four t2 units die within range, both are recycled. Also, yes, the recycled bots count if they die within range. This ability lasts for 8 seconds and increases production speed of your barracks 4x. The actual hp increases are ~120hp for t2 blocks and ~200hp for t3 blocks (it varies slightly by race). This is another thing that makes a big difference in campaign mode, as building a wall of t3 blocks can really slow down a wave of enemies while they try to break through. The hp of the t2 and t3 blocks in the game now is really an oversight... T3 blocks pretty much suck - it's almost always better to spend three minerals on three t1 blocks rather than on one paper-mache t3 block... I just want to reiterate, only Gobbo 4 and 5 were nerfed - the campaign should be easier now due to the new resource trickle, increased build area, and stronger t2 and t3 blocks. IMO, the game feels a lot better now. As always, thank you everyone for all the feedback... These forums really help us to improve our games.
^^Thanks for all the responses Tom, and thanks for clearing that up about the consumables. And how much are the build areas being boosted? User-created levels sounds awesome
Foursaken, can you teach us how you do the multiple quote and reply? I would love to learn how to do that! Thank you for the answers
I think there are too many buffs to make the game easier.. Like extra 50 minerals over time.. I don't really need this.. The build zone around barracks and high tier block's health would be enough for me
Man, I think forsaken have their hands full with the number of other questions you keep asking them so I will answer this one to maybe give them some time to breath, eat, and you know... do some coding, in between answering your deluge of questions!! Multi quote can only be done from the browser, not the TA app. There you can click a button for each message so instead of quote press "M/ quote" under each post to tag all the ones you want included then 'reply' and they will appear (you can edit them down from there). I guess you use the app tho like me.
Just highlight the "mquote" option on each response you want to quote - it doesn't show up on the mobile app though, afaik.
Hear, hear! Really appreciate the devs activity with every release. The difficulty curve always seems to be a defining feature with your games. If there is any way to include a difficulty toggle to include the original mode and the resource trickle planned in the update, it would be greatly appreciated. The only reason I say that is, as it stands, the current model is an excellent balance of risk vs reward. Plenty of maps where I've rushed a resource node, just to get the quick 100, then let it fall and use the resource on an already well equipped node. The downfall of this strategy being my barracks upgrades at a slower pace. Not saying with the update that tactic will get thrown out the window completely but I'd say 9 times out of 10 it will be more advantageous to set up a defense for every node, post update. The resource change coupled with the plan of the barracks generating its own power grid is an indirect nerf to every level, in my opinion. I'm no masochist, and I certainly don't like unbeatable games, it just feels like you guys do a really awesome job on making the game hard but never frustrating. I'm at 95% complete on my Block Men campaign, without using consumables (cause I was trying to horde minerals) and without purchasing any IAP (which I plan in doing to get some more heros). The only reason it's not at 100% complete is the black wave bug in Zomblock World - Stage 5, which you guys have already identified and are squashing (once again a testament to your activity in gamer forums). It's very cool to get beat on any particular map, then change tactics, equipment compositions, resource defense strategy and command your army to victory. It really is rewarding and it'd be a shame to see it go so fast. Please include a toggle if possible. Edit - You guys have already submitted the update, but if there's anyway to save the current difficulty build and incorporate it back in at a later update, it would be badass.
Are there any (distant) plans for new campaign levels? Or plans for a sandbox mode type thing, (or a level creator for multiplayer like the last bf.)
Build areas are boosted 2x but only horizontally (ie, you can't build forward or backward any farther). Also, you can build 10 blocks high instead of only 5 blocks above a power node now (but not in mp). Also, we are considering looking into a more hardcore mode (or new, very difficult levels) with additional challenges like limited hero deaths, etc. We'll see what people think when the update hits.
Right on. Going to beat a dead horse some more; Thank you for staying active in gaming communities, mad +loyalty.
I like the building sideways farther, that way it's easier to build terraces in the middle of a lane. And yeah building higher is nice as well. I was annoyed that I couldn't build on the top of the wall in the 4th gobbo mission. The hardcore mode definitely sounds like something I'd be into Will there be a height limit for endless? And I forget, is the endless update in queue?
Sorry if I'm being dumb but I was saving up my minerals for a new hero but decided to buy a few new weapons to make my campaign more exiting. So I purchased the flamer, mortar and .50 cal played a mission and could see my flamer and mortar but can't find the .50 cal anywhere, just wondering if I'm missing something?
Yep, Endless is in the current update! Not only will it be a great new challenge, but it will be a great way to earn extra minerals to unlock heroes faster, or save up for a few consumable items if you're having trouble with some of the harder missions... WITHOUT having to actually "grind" (i.e. meaninglessly replaying old levels). Its a T2 weapon... as soon as your Barracks hits T2 you'll be able to build it! Just as a side note, the campaign in general will get MUCH easier as long as you keep getting better equipment... I don't think anyone can stand much of a chance without T2 blocks and equipment once you get to 3+ level on any planet.
Ok great! Wasn't sure if you had that first update submitted yet. Will endless have a height limit for blocks?
Update sounds nice. Right now the structure is so rigid the game feels more like a puzzle game, where you have to find the right solution. With more flexibility in resources and building area I think the game will feel more strategic, with multiple ways to beat a level.
Woohoo I just passed a level I been stuck on for a couple of days without using any spoilers from here, without consumables and without giving up! Gotta say I'm worried of the game becoming too easy with balance and rule changes also coz that was mighty satisfying to pass and for sure has made the gameplay last longer. Haha Really great game. I think my favourite of Foursakens' titles. Can't wait to see what they add as they always seem to use the initial released game just as a base to build upon with new features. Endless mode sounds great but this really has a lot more potential! Anyway I still got tons to play AND multiplayer. One of the best ios games here IMO!
Like the game, and with the coming update it should be much better. I have only one annoyance, which is how the enemy in campaign can simply just spawn a shitload of their soldiers right by your base. I know thats supposed to add into the difficulty factor, but when youve pushed them all the way back to their base, and they just spawn guys right next to your own base, theres nothing you can do about it in time and you just die, unless you know its coming
