  1. Quickstart Barracks Entry

I know, I know, BF:Wars and all... but it sure would be great if you guys would go take a couple minutes, update BF to add the ability to enter your barracks in Quickstart, just like in Coop, and call it a day...

That would kind of defeat the entire purpose of the mode (build up front, survive as long as possible)... heck, you don't even earn resources in Quickstart to be able to do anything in build mode throughout the game anyway.

  3. I just had like a 1000 gold before finally getting sniped... I had a couple mines going and built up enough M to build even a couple of Heavy Plasma turrets... I understand it is a finished game, minus any bugs and what not... just a thought I had about one of my favorite games, didn't think it would hurt to throw it out there :)

I'm working on getting a good strategy going. I read the touch arcade's giggles grimm post (the one with tips) and most of it I think is good. Got a couple questions about that and other things

-Grimm says to not diversify turret types. Is that a good idea? Or should I be having more turrets

-I'm tempted to get a power source upgrade on machine guns and spam produce them. Is this a decent idea to slow down enemies?

-I always have a lot of money after about round 10. Is this normal? Or should I be using it on something?

-My strategy is to build a wall around my base and put a flamer, and two plasmas to fully defend my base at close range. Is that good? Or should I be doing more?

-For long distance fighting I use only lasers currently. I think I'm going to add orbital lasers. Is this good? Or should I have more.

-Should I dig a trench around my base, or just let the guns do that for me?

    Suggestion for Multiplayer Versus:

Maybe make a new block that produces "team" goblocks. These goblocks only attack your opponent's base, not your own. It would be really cool to have two different team goblocks fight each other, but that might be tough to code so maybe just have them ignore each other.

The goal is to balance defending your base with building blocks that attack for opponents. You may want to prevent players from attack each other, because with high powered weapons, the game would go quickly. Or maybe just say that the base must be destroyed, if the player dies he respawns after a minute.

    Just an idea.

    Halp.

My lvl 57 noobiness can never get past wave 25, in easy and normal :/ I've gotten all the resources mined out, and have a bridge with around 20 lazers on it, and 4 heavy plasma, but the darn bazookas keep taking out my lazers, so I'm just left with a bunch of machine gun spam, any tips? (I've also only gotten to 8minutes in QuickStart, I keep getting myself killed, rofl.
Also, are there more minerals than just the ones in the cubes? I needs more D:

    My strategy is also-
Wave 1- Get 2 mineshafts on the other side of the attack
Wave 2- Upgrade base to 2, move mineshafts around and add a drill (I have power and scavange mod on my mine/drills)
Wave 3- Get a plasma rifle, build moar mines
    Wave 4- MORE MINES!
    Wave 5- MORE MINES!
Wave 6- Enough mines to have covered the entire side of the map not getting attacked.
Wave 7- MORE MINES ON THE SIDE GETTING ATTACKED! I place wood blocks to soround the mine shaft/drill so they are less vurnable at no financial penalty.
    Wave 8 & 9- Repeat step 7.
Wave 10- By now I would have 2500 money and 2000 minerals if on normal, or 3500 on easy (Let's say I'm on easy)
I build my base now, with a 15 wood block tall tower above my barracks 3x3. Then I build 4 extending "arms" each containing 2 lasers on the left and right side, and 2 on the bottom, and a heavy plasma(I'm confused about going with hp or a howitzer. Then I build a mesh wall 5 blocks far from my base, so it's a 13x13 mesh wall (I only do flat maps, probably a bad idea, lol) I put machine guns sourounding my base as having (mg)(wall)(wall)(mg)(wall)(wall) I have the mgs on my sides and on the top. Then I finish it off with 9 mortors on mini towers in my base(OCD leaves me with limited options. Lol)

  6. Here is what I do.. These images show three tactics...

I build my base "shell" one block away from the barracks, them above that have guns pointing down. I also burrow three or four sensors. This way, if an enemy gets through the wall, Weapons can still fire down on them versus not being able to hit some on burrowing in through a thick wall...

I build my towers on trees.... Shadows can't climb trees :) I continually reinforce as my resources dictate so the structure and network of towers can stand.

I also spam mines and wood blocks every round... Gold is easily replenish able between rounds.

I either use future bot for that or dog to mine if I need to build more M heavy turrets...

So far, this has gotten me to past 40 levels and 20-30 mins in QuickStart. In QS I bring Msh blocks and mines as one of my four, to rebuild base and to hold off enemy.... I camp around my central base and let a fast bot hunt gold...

Your image blew my mind away. I have just realized the power of future bots, decoy blocks, and lights. I'm on lvl. 30 something and still going strong. The lasers on trees thing really helps, :D . Also, would motion sensors work on trees? Btw, don't mines also affect your own blocks? I had a dog bot who went nuts on my sandbox base (before the update that allowed bots to blow up mines) and just blew up all the mines, and along with it, half my base(It was so hilarious I just had to upload it). I can get a picture of my base uploaded tomarrow. I'm afraid my poor computer's going to explode soon.

  8. Here is one of images that did not attach? It is my gun battery pointing down on the barracks.... Mix of high power slow recharge and something rapid to pick off enemies..

    Level 400 and beyond...

    Hi,

    My approach as follows;

    - mod and max out the plasma rifle.
    - mod both mines so you can re use them and recover cost and resources when they are demolished.
    - from levels 1 to 10+ only install mines (away from attacking forces - move them each time if need be).
    - defend your base with the plasma rifle only.
    - have a fast bot collect coins.
    - once the numbers of attackers become unmanageable, including ninjas, then start on the base.

    Key principals for my bases;
    - try and locate the actual base within a mountain, basically out of line of sight.
    - build the defenses centrally and at a height so they have line of sight to the entire map - as much as possible.
    - use the wire mesh for most construction as it does not use resources.
    - save resources for weapons.
    - use the higher strength blocks where structural integrity is needed.
    - hide sensors around the base for the ninjas.
    - install some lights at the base in order yo attract ninjas (they will go for the lights before attacking walls to get at the base.

    Weapons:
    - start with 50 cals, but focus on getting howitzers - the more the better - they have great range and are hard hitting.
    - bring in freeze cannons when the other guns are struggling to keep the ninjas at bay.
    - try to set up gun arrays so they can hit enemies at the edges of the maps (the laser enemies are of most concern).
    - also ensure that guns arrays adequately cover the base area.
    - lasers are good to indicate where enemies are coming from (at the higher levels they don't do a lot if damage, therefore don't over invest in them).
    - the other high tech weapons are useful, however you need enough howitzers to take out most enemies as they appear on the map.
    - Landmines are expensive and are once off use - a waste of resources.

After I have mined out all resources, I place up to 10 drills deeply buried and typically next to my base. These will still gain a small amount minerals if not on a resource block.

Following posts are attach three maps. The first is my first major map which got past level 450, however it was an older version of the app. This one requires lots of maintenance between rounds as it is big and exposed.

The second one is at around level 270 and still going strong. I loose between zero to ten blocks per round.

The third is my latest and is still in its early stages...

    Regards
    David Webb

    Seeking help:

My friend wants to tryout the multiplayer mode, so he wants to use my devices (mac, iPhone, ipad, with Block Fortress installed) to play with me. Can he just log into his game center account on MY device (say my iPad), and play with me (iPhone/mac)?

I tried it, but after he logged in the game center, sending each other co-op invitation in the game results in no response (no notification what so ever), just say "inviting XXX".

By the way, automatch works normally.

Any comments would be great! Thank you!

I will try it later with my wife's ipad. She uses my appleid for her apps, etc but uses her own appleid for gamecenter.

I remember I couldn't play Magic 2013 with her because of a similar issue but it worked fine for other games. The whole reason I bought the game was to play against her. The Magic devs told me right away that there was nothing they could do to help me because Apple controls the servers. It was only that game that I had trouble with.

Thanks. Actually the same issue is also haunting my Heroes & Castle. It used to work fine (one or two month ago), and it seems not lately.

I just tried it and I could not get a global game going by inviting my wife's gamecenter appleid. She was on her ipad with my appleid for apps but using her appleid for gamecenter. I invited her but her ipad never got the request. She loaded up gamecenter app and it did not show the invite either.

I could get a local bluetooth/wifi game going though.

Foursaken is still cookin' the beans. They'll be ready this week most likely. The game comes out next week anyway

  20. Oh no, these are different beans... old style beans, with a dash of new spices... they posted they are updating the original BF and that update has already been submitted.
