Lighting Any chance you guys could rewrite the lighting engine (I know its alot to ask)? Currently, lighting is the only thing holding this game's graphics back, and, while not a game breaker, I would like to see smooth lighting since it fits the style so much better. You might also want to cap the displayed brightness; putting several lights down in close proximity can get blinding.
Although this initially looked pretty cool, I held off because I was a little intimidated - I've never played any kind of crafting game and I expected this to be over my head. But I gave it a shot a few weeks ago, and man am I glad that I did. This game is excellent. Definitely doesn't need a tutorial - the level of progression is just fantastic. The way this game teaches you how to play it, while also encouraging experimentation, feels perfect to me. Also, this is the first Foursaken game I've played. Thanks for a great game guys, you have a new fan! Obviously, there is a lot to learn, and I have a few questions. -I think I know the answer to this, but can you stack mods? Say you want to boost the damage of a turret, do you need multiple crafting slots for each damage mod? Just want to make sure I'm not missing something. -How do you folks deal with the shadow goblocks? I have an upgraded plasma pistol that I use, but around wave 21/22 they overwhelm me, and the motion sensors seems useless, unless you scatter a whole pile of them. I also have the spotter equipped with the ID mod. I guess it's possible I'm just not as good with the FPS controls, but I'm wondering what you guys do about them. -I just unlocked the nuke. Any tips on using this? Played with it in sandbox, and it seems like it would be pretty difficult to use this effectively while running around. Thanks for any help!
Update sounds awesome! Jetpack and helper bots, can't wait! --- Will we be able to upgrade/craft mods for these bots? Wonder what the types will be? Definitely one I'd want to see is an illumination bot: hovering around the battlefield with lights to help at night
QA You can stack up to individual limits per type. Each object has a max total slots as well, so tech block has 5, most other things 10, and the top end weapons have 20 slots total. You have to buy some of the extra slots. Damage wise, rate of fire is slightly more important than max damage. For some things you want to max out area of effect first as well. The first and most important weapon mod is detection so you can start surviving the dreadful night. Shadows you want to mow down. This gets easier once you have a plasma rifle. To have your base kill them plant some lights around detectors within turret range. They attack the lights and you and your base kill them. Your base is going to have a butt load of lights so they need power source, lots of health and maybe some regen mods. I am too busy shooting during a round to micro a nuke so I never use them. If it changed so you could call in a nuke I may use them. Heavy Plasma seems hard enough to manage as it is for me.
Looking forward to the update along with everyone else. Another tip for new players: get the salvage and power mods for the mine and the drill. This allows for alot of flexibility, and makes mines much easier to protect, particularly in the earlier rounds. I was playing today, and it occurred to me: Wouldn't it be great if there was an undo button? I mean how many times have you accidentally deleted a block, causing another one to fall and crush something important? Happens to me too often.
Undo would be awesome. I suspect that I sometimes damage the base when trash is selected and I move around carelessly. Also a Mesh block with mods would be nice.
A mesh block with mods? They're cheap and durable. With mods, they'll probably be somewhat OP since they are easy to build and to replace. I'm awaiting the update. Very much.
Another useful feature would be manual reloading. Maybe it wasn't implemented because a balance issue but being able to manually reload your weapons would really help.
There's one standard free one you can use, and it looks like the rest are IAPs. Buying them all for $4 is reasonable though, also considering all the support Fouraaken gives this game..
I NEED MONIES. I wan play with all the bots. What's good is that it doesn't cost anything to increase the mod slots on the bots.
New update is crazy cool. Thank you Foursaken Bros. You guys are some of the best, if not the best, indie developers on the scene. Mad props.
