Congrats again to the developers and many thanks to them for making this awesome game. Such a great combination of sandbox, strategy, and action. This is my first Foursaken Media game and I'll definitely be checking out Heroes and Castles soon. I'm not nearly as good yet as some of the others on this forum. I'm level 17 and my farthest on survival is wave 12. There have been some great ideas thrown out there on this forum regarding a hardcore mode and keeping the game interesting for those folks at level 100(!). Here are some of my ideas for improving the overall gameplay and experience for everyone: 1. There are moments when the game lags, even on my iPad 4. One of them is when I fire a plasma weapon into a target right in front of me and the screen turns essentially blue. It seems like the processor has a hard time with the sudden demand to turn a few millions pixels each a different shade of blue (go figure). As a result the game lags until it catches up. I also notice this same lag if I happen to be in the same area as a mortar blast. The demand on the processor for the explosion to fill the entire screen causes lag and breaks up the action. Perhaps there could be some limit to the size of the explosion if it will fill the screen? It might help to keep the game running smoothly for everyone. 2. Auto aim: This may not be popular with the purists but I think it could be helpful and of course it could be optional. I'm not looking for anything TOO extreme, but something similar to what the Trigger Fist devs did could be helpful. Basically the look/strafe motion would override any auto-aim, but if you simply moved your character and the bullseye went very close to an enemy it would lock on. 3. It would be awesome to be able to move the fire button. Personally I would prefer to use the area below the fire button for looking/aiming, but the way the screen is layed out there isn't much room down there. I wouldn't be the first person to say that FPSs weren't made for touch screens, but I still enjoy them and I always appreciate it when the "buttons" are movable. 4. I find that double tapping to reload isn't sensitive or something. I often have to repeat it to get it to reload. 5. It seems like when the action gets intense (more enemies, explosions, etc) then certain sounds will completely drop out. It usually happens to my weapon sounds, but also happens for the money collection sounds as well. It may be a memory thing since the app crashed once while this was happening. 6. During the build phases, it seems that for some of the weapons (laser for example) the displayed range of the weapon disappears if you move your viewpoint to a high altitude. So these are some of my ideas to make this game even better than it already is. Having only spent $2 on this game I don't feel like I'm entitled to see any of these incorporated at all, but I figured I would throw my ideas in the mix with everyone else's. Thanks again Foursaken!
Well, I have some 20+ plasmas stationed there. I call that the 'deadzone' because anything that gets in their blasting radius (other than shadows) is dead.
Foursaken media, Any chance one of your future games on ios is a trading card game the likes of YuGiOh? (Monsters, Spell, Trap) etc- you could use your Heroes and Castles and Bug Heroes artwork so the development of such a simple card derls game would be so much easier. Card games make alot of money on iOS so a mic of Yugioh and Rage of Bahamut would hit a softspot. The only decent trading card game if you will is Magic the Gathering but it's only available on iPad!
Love this game ...but I suck at it so far... I am currently working survival to get my first block mod. I'm going for the no power mod for the mineshafts. The best I have done so far is stage 10 on normal. I'm switching back and forth between easy and normal in survival just to get a feel for what is going on. There are a lot of helpful hints here and in the tips thread, thanks to all for putting the time in to compile and post them! It looks like once I get past a certain point, progression will start to speed up considerably, would that be an accurate statement?
It takes a little bit to get momentum going, but once you get to the later levels you earn more M. Also, get self power mod for mines and drills when you unlock them, as well as the salvage mod. It completely opens up early game strategy.
Try out assassins creed: recollection. Real time TCG, definitely more intuitive than Magic for this day and age. Also Shadow age isn't bad, and its easy to get shadow points to get cards
Early game is the best chance you get at alot of minerals. You usually get some 1000+ minerals by then. Once you have the right mods and what not. What I usually do now it buy Plasma Rifle, since it's always a first. I buy 2 mineshafts then solo the wave. Wave 2 I buy another mineshaft and stimp pack. Wave 3 I upgrade my base and get mining drill. I usually just solo until round nine, by then I'd have built everything I need.
Haha, solo till round 9. I'm not even close to that yet. I don't know, maybe I've beefed up my base too much though.
You can never beef up your base too much. I have a wall of tech metal folled by a mesh wall, all with block armor. I want to uograde my turrets health and repair abilities so they are strong enough to handle the laser goblocks. They shoot from extremely long distances and can devastate your defences. I find them worse than shadows. If there are 4+ firing on you, you're dead.
I'm here to correct the name. Shadow ERA it has 200 new cards on test server coming to main server soon
This is the skeleton for something awesome I need one more Howitzer and I plan on putting something fancy on the third level of my base.
Anyone who knows what the requirements for the Big Block Fortress achievement are? I mean, build a huge base in Casual mode is rather vague. I thought that the tower of absolute death and annihilation with its 50 M.I.R.V`s, 100 Heavy plasmas, lasers and shiet was big enough, but apparently not...
I'm not into achievements but I got that one. I think it probably requires using a lot of blocks in the building of your base. (thousands of them)
I think it's all about the number of blocks. I'm pretty sure I got that achievement before I started adding turrets. My bases are huge and elaborate though.
