Damn, I must really suck at this. I'm seeing all these people making sick bases and lasting 50+ rounds.

There's gotta be something I'm doing wrong. I normally use plasma blocks primarily and then lasers later on. I usually just build painting blocks around my barracks, and four posts for plasma blocks.

Got to lv 40 (Rocky Mountains) before it became too much of a chore to continue. ( I totally loathe the FPS genre) I wish there were some specialized towers to deal with shadows! Perhaps a tower that can uncloak them in a very small radius?

As mentioned by some of the other people...there are instances where mobs spawn under mountains. It is rather annoying at higher levels. I remember dungeon defenders had a way to deal with it: letting mobs self destruct after a certain period of time.

Yeah at the moment all I do is sit around and wait for shadows, and I don't even see the other enemies barely, it's just jnstadeath from lasers and howitzers. Kinda taking the fun out if the game

Thanks for the summary - this is super helpful! A lot of this stuff is fixed in the update (1.0.1) that's currently waiting for Apple's approval. We also added an option to play an easier version of survival mode for all you guys who are having trouble (although your score will only be posted to the leaderboards if playing on normal difficulty). I think most of the other things you mentioned should be in 1.1 (which we hope to submit sometime next week).

I should say most things besides multiplayer, which we'll try to add in 1.2 or 1.3...

Jumpacks/ Jetpacks and a grappling gun would be awesome!!

The only other request I have is aiming down sight ability with some guns as well as possibly scope attachments to unlock?

Anyway, thanks again to Foursaken....I'm having a blast with this game and can't wait to see what's in store....especially PvP!!

Wouldn't it be great if 2 players were on a map and competing to see whose base will last longer? You could spend funds to bribe more enemies to spawn on their side or other shenanigans :)

And the blocks are not water proof. I have a roof on my house, but there is still rain inside!! Can you guys change that as well??

Can you address *how* you've fixed those things in the coming update? Some of those things mentioned are pretty intertwined with the gameplay. I'm curious to see what changes are coming.

This is a bit tricky, but I'll add it to the list and see what we can do.

I guess only a few of those things are fixed in 1.0.1... None of which should affect gameplay much (other than make it work better). Specifically, we fixed the bug where enemies get stuck underground, fixed the jerkiness when moving the screen, and increased the up/down look angle (along with adding more control options, iCloud support, crash fixes, memory optimizations to help with lag/crashing, more hp for terrain blocks, an easier survival difficulty level - that doesn't submit to GC leaderboards and gives you less character exp/rare minerals - and some other stuff).

In 1.1 we're adding terrain block building in sandbox mode, uploading/downloading bases, a flatter map to play on, and other as-yet-to-be-determined content (maybe a jumpack, new block types, other equipment, etc).

As for the issues with retaining resources when saving during an attack, we're not sure what we'll end up doing about that... The problem is that blocks that are lost during the levels are also saved as dead - so we don't want to double-penalize people that need to save and exit a wave during an attack.

    Foursaken Media: New Bug found!

I won't post pics or explain how but certain base design makes shadow enemies stuck circling in a loop infinitely. Once there is some 40 shadow enemies stuck in the base design in quick game the other enemies stop coming and the timer and level keep going.

This is not only a bug for rankings but a way to farm infinite minerals overnight while sleeping or on a secondary device 24/7.

If you are aware of bug and fix incoming let us know and if it is a new bug to you let me know and i will send private message submission of the base design pics.

Here is a night time pic of base from far out that doesn't reveal the exploit but you can clearly see all the shadows circling and not attacking in a infinite loop.

I love how Foursaken ignored all of the observations that simple stripped down games work best on iOS and just simply went for it. I could see myself playing something of this complexity on my console or PC, but the fact that its on my phone blows my mind.

The game is great, but it gets way too hard way too fast. How is everyone doing so well? I can't even get to level 10 on any of the maps.

My main issue is that I always seem to have a surplus of money but not enough minerals. I try to capture a mineral deposit on every turn, but the enemies just take it away from me again. I have the same issue with farms. Where is the best place to put them?

I think we know about that one... I'll double check. Might as well PM it to me anyway :p

That is definitely a huge part of the strategy in survival (managing your mines and protecting them). I usually make sure that I put my barracks in a spot that is near 2-4 mineral deposits so I can safely protect at least that many mines all in the same base. Also make sure to completely wall in any expansion mines or they will be shredded quickly by even basic enemies.

That being said, we're also adding an "easy" mode option in the next update (already submitted), which will help out those having difficulty... note that you won't earn as many resources and you won't be able to submit your "score" to GC in that mode.

Yeah, if you look in the walls category or whatever, there is something called Mesh. Costs 2 gold and not minerals :D not everything costs minerals, there is a hybrid of the 2 as well. Now I'm finding that I have more minerals than gold sometimes lol.

I want to get this, but I have a couple questions:

    1) How long does a single game take to play, assuming average skill level, and you're past the learning curve?

    2) Do you have to start building from scratch each game?

I'm a huge TD fan, and Junk Jack fan, but I'm not sure I like the idea of building a new fort from scratch every game. But is that how it works?

    1) It pretty much depends on how long you can survive. At first you might die pretty early (around lvl 3, 4, or 5 if you're good,) The game tells you what to do as you play so it shouldn't take you long to get out of the learning curve; the game itself is a tutorial as you do and discover more things.

    2) Pretty much yes. You can still use pre-generated terrain as your advantage (such as trees, mountains, etc.)

I haven't played to game a lot myself, but hope this helps. :)

You can save at any point and pick up where you left off.

Here's how you get minerals. The first thing you need, and I realize this is a lot, are self-powered and salvage mods on mine shafts and mine drills. Now each turn you can reposition your mines and drills. During the first waves enemies will only be coming from one or two sides of the map so you can build as many mines and drills as you can on the opposite side knowing they won't be attacked. During the first 10 to 20 waves all your mines and drills should be on the extreme ends of the map to try and deplete them before the become hard to defend in later waves. Now if you get self powered and salvage on plasma turrets and laser turrets too you can have 5 plasma turrets and 2 mines on wave 1, 8 plasma turrets and 3 mines on turn 2, and upgrade your barracks and have 2 laser turrets and 3 drills on wave 3.

    Free manual teleporter tip!

Build a doorway if you will 2 blocks in height surrounded by 3 blocks in height on every side except doorway. Directly above opening build blocks straight up as high as desired.

Walk into doorway and turn around facing exit, look down to your feet and put down 2 blocks.

The first block will raise you up on top of it and second block will nearly instantly "push" you to top of your high column! No teleporters or climbing needed!

Once you leave the top you can delete the 2 blocks now fillimg your doorway and repeat as needed.

It's a cheap way to get to high ground to fire or hide or just get a better view.

The high towers also make great target distraction to any ranged enemies and take a long time to destroy!

Here is some pics so you get the idea. You can also look at your feet and spam blocks until you are at the height desired but i find my way faster and more fun.
