Foursaken media is definitely my favourite ios gamedeveloper!! Bug heroes was for me one of the best iphone games ever. They where very active in the forums and for me that was something new for a gamedeveloper. Hopefully one day there will be a bug heroes 2 After bug heroes its was a bit quite and there new games sky gnomes and food ninja where not that good. But it was new and original like all there games. With Heroes & Castles they delivered again a great and original game in my opinion. But Block Fortress is for me the best iphone game yet it even have made me stop playing Heroes & Castles. Because the game is open you can do whatever you want wich makes the choices endless and therefore the strategy of this game insanly deep. Thanx Foursaken media for this gem of a game. Its a long time i felt this way about a game only Bug Heroes and Spaceminer have done that before. @dwerny To reload you have to tap twice the icon of the gun. @Dreathor Thx for all the tips. ill keep following youre posts.
Shadow Moses map in sandbox. Next step, attempt to build Metal Gear Rex inside the hangar at the top right. Foursaken guys - just a suggestion, it would be useful to have the option to lock a map into day or night in sandbox mode.
I wish they made transparent see through Glass bricks. Make them cheap and low HP fine but I would like to be able to see better atop my fortress platform firing position. It doesn't have to be 100% transparent or clear but need to be able to see where enemies are. I think everyone would agree that would be a great block.
That would be an awesome block! I'll add my voice to the jump pack movement. I want one! Also, what about a grappling hook a-la Zelda? If attached to a block it could pull you towards the block and if attached to an enemy it could pull them towards you. Some sort of Melee weapon with a big knockback effect would be rad as well.
Suggestions Thanks for such a great game Foursaken. I do have a few suggestions though. - Move the Selection Tool display. You can't see how much "m" your spending while repairing your barracks. - Put terrain blocks in Sandbox mode. I'd like to be able to change the shape of the landscape in Sandbox mode just to play around. - As stated earlier, make the terrain destruction feature of the plasma rifle a mod, but also make it a mode for plasma turrets. Also how many extra mod slots can you purchase?
So, the most I can make it up to now is about 15-16. I'm using a plasma rifle, plasma turrets and some lasers. What other turrets should I build around round 15?
I would really enjoy the FPS part of the game much more if the game had a third person view. It is hard to see what is around you when there are a bunch of enemies. I can't tell if something is about to attack me from behind or not in 1st person view. I guess you could have issues with blocks obscuring your view though from behind.
In a effort to help the Developer, the game and the community here is a list of known bugs/glitches/exploits: 1. Before your wave finishes, if you save and "reload" you will start the same wave with whatever $ you picked up and whatever M you mined. This is game breaking because people with lots of time or inclination could restart early waves endlessly and build a crazy fortress which would allow them to get farther in waves compared to honest players. Just build max amount of mines as at end of round when you save and reload the mine has lost no M at all. To be honest, i sort of like this exploit because i could if i so choose build a much bigger stronger fortress and have fun with it. Perhaps make this a optional mode that isn't on the rankings. Fix it on anything that has a ladder-board but make it a extra special level type we can experiment on and isn't ranked. 2. There is a visual glitch, where if you delete a turret mod like ROF, then repurchase it your total ROF will show less, but if you hard restart your game/device the ROF fixes itself. It seems to just be a visual error after further testing but could be hotfixed. 3. Enemies glitching in terrain under the blocks or the shadow enemies hitting you through the blocks! I had a elite Shadow literally under my shooting platform hitting me through the blocks... this is really unrealistic. 4. It seems that mines explode each other if in close proximity. It makes sense in real life but in this game i have a feeling that the money i spend on mines shouldn't be wasted if i put them too close to each other. This needs further testing. 5. As it stands now you can start a quick start or any other game, make a base then save it and start the game and afk, some 10-12 minutes later you will have farmed exp and 10+ of a Mineral. Reload game and repeat ad-nauseaum. Not sure if this was intended but it seems like an exploit to me. If you are fully afk the mining should be non existent to avoid abuse of this and the exp should also be cut to 0 if you are fully afk. ---- I would just like to repat some of the game suggestions so its all in one place: -JumpPacks for us -Glass somewhat transparent blocks -Sandbox allowing for terrain blocks -Multiplayer/Co-Op -Versus/PvP -Allowing small guns to take half a slot so you could dual wield pistol/plasma pistol for example. -Less glitchy FPS, the aim should be smooth not jerky. -It's hard to see where you fire with Plasma Rigle for example, perhaps a mod for it to be less "visually restrictive" on the target impact area. I shoot enemies and I'm blind as to whats going on down there unless i have Spotter item. -Third Person View -Allow us to pivot up and down/look up doen/shoot up down at a wider/higher angle.
I think simply the ability to pause and go into "Build Mode" and fly around mid game would solve this. I would vote for that, it would make Shadow mobs easier to spot from a distance.
The boards are already spoofed with fake scores and always will be, why worry about someone who at least "works" for theirs? Calling this game breaking in a game you can buy unlimited rare minerals for mods, can save and retry a level an infinite number of times outside of this particular mechanic, and has people playing with all manner of different devices giving them different fields of view, etc. is a bit of a stretch. Honestly, rankings outside of your trusted circle of GC friends are only good for getting a general impression of how the masses are doing overall but are worthless for determining actual rank for any given individual. Fortunately, this one is easily "fixed" by having a mandatory autosave at the beginning of every action sequence and not allowing saving inside of an action sequence, but game breaking it is not This is called farming and is part of every game with collectible resources since the beginning of gaming. Also, how on earth are they supposed to tell if you're AFK or not. You realize that you are not, in general, actually required to do anything necessarily by design, hence the inclusion of periodic assaults by shadow units to force you to do something other than watch the mayhem. If you've made a base that can allow you to last long enough to harvest rare minerals without doing anything does it in any way matter if you're actually staring at the screen or not? Doesn't seem like much fun to me, but if that's how someone wants to play, why should I care? They could also just buy $200 worth of rare minerals in under 10 minutes and accomplish a lot more with their time. ---- Last, you missed that the rate of fire for land mines and depth charges is something in the vicinity of 2.5 billion, pretty sure somebody forgot specific check in the formula that calculates the ROF for one shot weapons like them.
How exactly do mining spots decay? Is it by round? By amount of M extracted from them? If its by round the drills are great, if not, in the long haul they're no better than the lower end.
Do mortars destroy your own blocks or only the terrain? I noticed I blew a tunnel to my base and couldnt find the 1 guy banging on it for a couple of minutes :O
