Nice base! And YES, you are correct... downward and sideways facing turrets are an absolute must to cover yourself at closer ranges. That of course is the tradeoff... downward facing allows for close range fire support, and top mounted guns allow for long ranged fire support...
I would really like it if there was a more clear indicator of where the next wave is coming from. The directions are helpful but not accurate enough. On more than one occasion I've fortified my base in one direction only to realize that the wave is coming from not, let's say North, but North-East. Maybe for such entry points you could mark out corners on the indicator instead of just edges?
Im kinda enjoying this one, but the minecraft side of things i still cant get to. I would still give it to Foursaken for giving us the most unique experiences on the iOS, and for making them awesome at all angles, this one included. Im still gonna play the game through despite not really liking the build part.
Good game so far. But I'm having a bit of a problem. At level 9 after finishing off most of the goblins with only 3 left, the last two armored goblin spawns but the final one is no where to be seen even after finishing off the previous two. I currently can't progress on this level. Any solutions? Thanks.
I'm a huge fan of Heroes and Castles, how does Block Fortress compare, which is the better game? Thanks, I'll probably end up getting this because it looks very cool.
Huh? I hope you don't mean this game BF has full widescreen support. This seems to be either some kind of weird bug, or the decoy is just wandering around the edges of the map: Either way we'll be releasing a hotfix asap which will add a fail-safe to make sure that you can never get stuck like this again.
They are very different games. H & C is much more frenzied and hack and slash. Its more of an action game. Block Fortress is REALLY deep strategically and while it has action (that is surprisingly smooth), the focus is on strategically building your base. I've spent a lot more time with H&C so I can't really tell you which is better but I expect in the long run Block Fortress will end up eating more of my time. Just get them both.
As with me as well. I did have it saved before the round. Loaded it up and worked for that round. Next round, 1 guy was AWOL.... Now I can't progress on this save.
I put a mineshaft on a mineral on the first level but I never got any more 'm' resource to put more blocks down. I got to stage 3 so far. Am I missing something obvious? The help should mention something about the top left map showing the direction the attacks are coming from. I didn't see that feature until I read a post on here. It would also help if the help section showed pictures of the things that are being described. I think those two things would help people who just start out playing this game. I am loving it. I always liked the idea of the original minecraft game but for some reason never could get into it. There is another minecraft looking game created by another developer with a game put on top of it. I didn't like that game because it was a grinding game to get things made. This Block Fortress game doesn't feel like grinding at all which I love. It is fun to create and see how the design does. The TD aspect seems like a perfect match to an open building game. Congrats! But... A jet pack or hand glider would be cool
As some others have said, get both. I've never gotten a bad game from Foursaken Media, and while nothing has entertained me as much as Bug Heroes (oh please, please let there be a sequel), this is definitely another worth playing game. While the novelty is a big part, it is seemingly going to punch more of my buttons than H&C anyhow. I think it's because H&C is so much more action oriented, and this is so much about the careful planning versus the crazy hectic nature of H&C. This is a beautiful mousetrap game where you have the combination of planning, hoping, and testing with each wave (as well as learning more and more as you keep plugging at it), but also the persistence of gaining access to bigger and better weapons and blocks through the persistence of rare minerals and character levels. Of course, if you hate building blocks in 3D, well, you're out of luck, but otherwise, it's amazing you can buy all this for $2 (and quite saddening that so many comments on their FB page and youtube are people begging for it to be free right off the bat).
A few quick questions. 1.) How can you face turrets down hills? My MG's just shoot straight ahead even though an enemy is right below it! 2.) What is the basic strategy for mining? Capture as many as you can right away? Do you need to defend each? 3.) Height of defenses - in an earlier post someone showed a picture of their base and it was mostly vertical. How far up can the guns reach the baddies? 4.) Sometimes I show I have $200+ but when I try to build a $10 item it says I don't have enough cash. 5.) When a block is removed from the bottom of a tower it shifts the whole thing down, is there any way to build it back up? Any basic strategy tips to share for n00bs?
I think I would like the Fours4ken games more if I didnt read this forum. The devs attitude in his posts just turns me off for some reason. I get an "I wrote the game, therefore I am holier than thou" vibe, ya know?
Must give credit where credit is due. I'm getting pretty infatuated with FM games. On wave 5 on all terrains. There is a ton to absorb in this game. I'm loving the FPS angle. The shotgun is cherry but that reload time is brutal. Can't wait to craft that time down. I'm sure I'm not the only one who saw the excellent mash-up that is H&C and started thinking of other mash-ups. The first one that popped into my mind was a Minecraft TD. About a week later the TA article hits giving the March 7th release date. All in all this went beyond my expectations. Didn't see the FPS coming and am pleasantly surprised by how well it operates. Fantastic game that I will recommend to all iOS gamers. Time to get back to The Snow Fortress of Solitude. This game is so freaking awesome. DOTY and GOTY Ps-The "G" on GOTY is plural.
I can answer a couple of these I think... 1. Build the torrent on the side of a block as opposed to the top. It changes the firing arc downward. 3. If you click on the info of any given turret, or block, for that matter, it will show you it's info, including range and arc. 4. Sometimes items cost more than just $. You might need 'm' as well. It shows you the cost of the things you buy, or try to buy, as deductions on the HUD...look there? As to the other stuff, I'm still trying to wrap my head around everything, so I don't want to give any bad advice. I can't see the harm in aggressively mining, so long as your mines will stay safe and not end up wasted resources. I don't think you can 'insert' blocks. My goal right now is to develop a vision of what I want to accomplish and spend the whole game working towards that vision, whether its mechanically proper or not, just to see what everything is capable of. I've made a lot of mistakes along the line but I'm starting to understand how everything works a little better. A lot of trial and error. Big fun, though. EDIT: I've only played survival
Seriously? I've had the complete opposite experience with these guys, and F_M in particular. These guys are extremely helpful and even more humble. I think you're reading something wrong.
