I hope this is the right place for this. If not can someone move it to a more appropriate pleace please. I just wanted to send a FYI out to some of the app developers that use this site.

The Iphone 3gs and above are amazing devices for the blind. The come equipped with speach right out of the box. Go into settings->general->accessiblity->voice over and turn it on. You iphone is now usable by someone who is 100 % blind. Before now blind peolpe had to buy a phone then a special app that talked some of the things. Often running them $1500+ just for a basic phone. This has been an amazing step forward in this area.

However I have noticed that many iphone apps are almost accessible, I have seen games that will 'talk' everything but one small but inportant part of the game. If you are making a game or other app. Please take a few moments and read the following link. It will explain how to make the program usable by all the people that use the iphone.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and consider the contents of it.

What kind of games would a blind person play if they couldn't see the screen? How do they know when or where to tap it?

A blind person can play almost any game that a sighted person can with the correct accessibility.

if you go there and click games you will see some of the games that are already accessible to a large degree. It might be harder for them to play a game like racing or assassins creed but there are alot of games out there that can be played with a little work on the developers side. In most cases its not that the developer does not want to or is lazy its simply that they dont realise that there is a need for the accesibility.
