I don't think it's fair to comment on a beta build that you had the opportunity to play before everybody. It's called a beta because its a unfinished product and there's room and time to improve on the game. Please wait until game is released to post any kind of review or opinions. I know it's not your intent, but based on what you said you even have me questioning the game and its not fair to the dev based on your time with a unfinished product. And lili, dead trigger and horn were all games I thought looked pretty, but lacked any kind of fun after 10 minutes of playing. I can care less if the games graphics are sub par, as long as gameplay is good, that in the end is what it's about.
I have to agree fully with this one. Well, except for the part about questioning the game. A final judgement on a game cannot be made on a beta build. It's a basic mistake that seasoned beta testers would know better than to make. The beta is not the final product by any level and in my experience of testing, the final test build and the release product are in the majority of cases very different experiences. The prettiest are not always, in fact rarely are, the best gameplay wise. It sounds to me that once they had the graphics right (and the graphics are certainly very good from the screens and videos they've shown here), the focus switched to getting the gameplay right. Which is far more important than graphics alone. I'm comfortably optimistic that they will get it right and am very glad that it didn't get released a year ago in an unfinished state. Any extra time or delays to a release of a game is a good thing in my book. It just means they want to make it better.
I don't post often, but I'm constantly watching feedback and comments both here and on the beta forum. I won't comment on the release date, but I will say that we would've shipped Bladeslinger a long time ago if quality wasn't a priority for us. We've already made significant changes based on feedback and that's a trend we fully intend to carry on. As far as graphics, I'm certainly biased but IMO you'll be hard-pressed to find a mobile game that looks better than BS even now - especially on newer hardware. That said, I sincerely hope you guys like what we deliver and I'm very much looking forward to getting the game in your hands. I've been working on BS for nearly two years now and in that time the team has had to make some profound sacrifices to be able to take the time to really polish the experience, so believe me, I can sympathize with the desire to see it released.
Self-removed > I erroneously spilled intricate details (criticisms) about the game based on the Beta. My apologies.
I'm really looking forward to playing a finished version of this, after nearly a year of longing. Really hoping it can be soon.
(deleted rest of quote as it breaks every closed beta rule I've ever seen) And yet you continue to comment, criticise and describe a closed beta build of an unreleased game in an open and public forum. Does that seem correct and fair? Or in any way in accordance with normal beta rules? I'm actually stunned at what I'm reading.

Revealing features/mechanics that are work in progress about unfinished product can damage studios/games image in consumer eyes, which can result in lower sales and that has nasty implications. I for one have learned something very unappealing about the game, at a same time i am greatful to you for that, but rules are rules. Next is offtopic - sorry about that This question is not aimed directly at Kerosenegames but they are welcome to answer it as anybody else who is willing to share some light on this subject. Why do iOS game devs mostly keep a secret on what devices will be supported by their game untill game is released? It should be mandatory in my eyes, after all we are the targeted audience which support them by buying their product. Please PM me on this one to keep topic on game ------------ Answered by MungeParty, thank you good Sir
Here's a direct quote from earlier in the thread. Another few direct from this thread. It's pretty clear when you're beta testing that the info is passed direct to the developer. Any beta test I've been in, negative impressions are given direct to the developer, not posted in a public forum, so they can improve it. If you have any interest in beta testing again for any game in which a developer takes part in these forums, I would recommend editing specific details about the game. It is very much a strong negative to release beta gameplay details as you did. Especially considering the beta is over quite a while now and a lot will have changed. Of course, you can also post what ever you want. It's up to you.
For anyone who's wondering about specifics, we did in fact make pretty drastic improvements in all of the areas mentioned. As Senior Designer I'd also like to point out that there's no intended dependence on IAP. Even in the beta build, IAP is not necessary for steady progression. I took great care to make sure of that. The beta revealed a few stumbling points where players said they felt certain things were too expensive or too powerful or where we found that certain challenges were too hard or took too long and we took that to heart and acted on it. That's what beta is for, after all - that feedback is incredibly valuable to us. It's doing us a blatant disservice to air that feedback here in a public forum, but hey that's the internet for you. /shrug
Ok, so I've removed all the criticisms of the game based on the Beta. My apologies to anyone, including the developers, who took offence to it. I should have known better, and the little voice in me told me that what I did was wrong.
My apologies. Anyways, it is nice to know that you guys improved on the weaker aspects of the game. Now, fingers crossed this launches between now and the end of the year!
Well, you had the decency to apologise and edit out beta details so that's a good thing. Try and keep it in mind next time you're testing. Thanks.
Reading this thread is pretty interesting, I just barely missed the deadline to become a beta tester on this game, which makes it more interesting for me to read the thread cause it makes me curious what the game is all about. Hopefully all is going well, cause the graphics look pretty cool and all.
No worries! It's natural for people to talk openly about things they're passionate about - that goes double for gamers. I'm definitely looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the latest version once it's released. Positive feedback is always nice, but it's the negative feedback we learn from.
They said October looked nice for a release and there's just one week left of it and we haven't had a single new... Like wth are we ever getting the game? Or maybe a release date?? I'm getting disappointed guys
