Ah, I forgot all about the update. I actually updated it on my iPad, but never got around playing it. WIll post some impressions later...I'm just hoping the nerfed regeneration will not screw up the game. PS: To the devs, when will the Android version be out? I can't wait to bask in the glorious visuals that will be available to Tegra 3 devices!
Second Wind now restores 1/2 the health you are missing, so it's still quite powerful, but yes, it was definitely OP before. Brett @kerosenegames kerosenegames.com
Thanks, Brrobotix! We're definitely working on a MUCH bigger update coming in January. This current one we had to rush out with mostly balancing and bugfixing with plenty of time for Apple to review the submission before the holiday App Store freeze. We also have leaderboards with friending from FB and Twitter in now. Hoping to have Game Center support in soon as well, but scores / stats / achievements (coming soon) we're going to try to apply retroactively for current players (should be doable). Awesome! Glad you hung in there for the update and are forging ahead. Thanks for the feedback and patience! Brett @kerosenegames kerosenegames.com
We're actually QA'ing the Android version this month and hope to ship with limited device support (broader with time and more QA'ing) in the next few weeks! Brett @kerosenegames kerosenegames.com
relyes - I was wondering if you guys are thinking of porting this game to the OUYA since the android version will be coming out in a month or two? I'd really love to play this game on my OUYA when I get mine in April.
Hi lazynahte, I don't think OUYA will be high on our list since we never really designed the controls for an external controller. The mapping wouldn't be that easy or great. But if we have time, and the OUYA actually ships, and if people actually buy it, we'll give a serious consideration Brett @kerosenegames kerosenegames.com
Awesome! Send me a note (brett@ and I'll see about getting you and APK when it's ready! Brett @kerosenegames kerosenegames.com
Well with 59,748 backers (63,416-3668 (first two pledges)) on kickstarter receiving OUYAs and then all the preorders from their site which we don't know the figures yet, I'm sure a lot of people are wanting it. But enough of the OUYA, how's the app going? Are you guys receiving enough to warrant the next episode? I know a lot of developers that give up on the sequels due to the app store being a VERY hard market to crack into.
Yeah, I know there are a lot of people who want what it *could* be. Let's hope it lives up to the hype, yeah? I know there's a market for the concept (I'm a backer ). We'll do it if it ends up looking viable. For sure. As for Bladeslinger, yes! It's done remarkably well so far and we're really excited to continue expanding on the game and the story. We have lots of new stuff in store for Episode 1 before we really start talking about Episode 2, but Episode 2 will happen Brett @kerosenegames kerosenegames.com
So I am playing the game on the iPad from the start to see how the rebalancing went. So I did not get Infinite Regeneration or Infinite Second Wind. Thus far, I've been able to progress further without dying much(the barman took me 3 times to finish) but now, I am stuck at Chapter 3. I don't have enough health to win. Don't have enough money to buy remedies either. Which means I'll have to play chapter 1 to grind some money and restart Chapter 3. That's not exactly the rebalancing I was expecting. A remedy cost 320 whereas a battle brings around 190(1,2,3 or 4 ennemies in one battle does not change the amount earned) so you run quickly out of money. You can't buy anything so you can't unlock anything so you can't power up so you can't progress UNLESS you use the devil's hand of IAP that will allow you to solve the problem. But for how long? If playing Chapter 1 is enough to restart Chapter 3 with a good stock of money, that could be in the bareable zone of grinding. I think they should lower the price of remedies by half or give us more money for each ennemy defeated... Encounters of 3 ennemies at a time or 4 ennemies in a raw take too long to be enjoyable. Shorter encounters, more ennemies type. So alas, it is still a 3/5 rating for me (but can't recommand it)
Ok, so I replayed Chapter 6 on the Normal Mode. And my thoughts are as follows: There seems to be no noticeable change in the game, but some subtle ones. The on-screen enemy icons now work (good!), healing cards heal by half only, and name changes. All these have been highlighted by people before me. I don't see any change in balance than making the regeneration weaker. If anything, this disturbs the balance of the game, and honestly only makes it look like you want people to go for IAPs. All in all, nothing here makes the gameplay MUCH better. Still a 3/5 as before.
I am under the impression that the first encounters are easier but yeah, cutting in half the effect of second wind does indeed make me think they want us to use IAP more...
Sorry to ask but why in the world this game needs a phone to work? Why it couldnt be played on an ipod touch as an example? So far im on third chapter and honestly i dont see the magnometer feature used at all. Im glad ive found a way to run it on my ipod 5th gen without hacking anything but please devs this is so silly and stupid. Game runs smooth with all effects enabled and i never had an hiccup or crash of some sort. Afterall the 5th gen touch is an iphone 4s, it has enough muscles for today standards. I would like to have an official answer. I hate to spend money and use a pc to circumnavigating the issue when considering how it runs it should be supported OTB. Thanks
Whatever extra sensor required (is it compass?) isn't actually required. The reason some devs do this to my understanding is because the iPod Touch 4 doesn't work with the game. So instead of a barrage of 1 star reviews, they decide that the game requires a "compass" as that is the only way iPod Touch 4 players can't download the game. The downside is iPod Touch 5 players also can't download this game!
Theres a trick that can make the game run on touch 5th gen infact is the only ios device i have and is what im using to play it, reached chapter 3 on my touch as i said. Just buy the game with itunes on pc and download it, then use ifunbox to install the ipa and voilĂ it works perfectly fine. Just posted it over reddit as well. I dont know how many peoples got the new touch but this trick could work with other games with similar requirements. The ipa can be found in music/ itunes / mobile applications once downloaded. Since the ipa is singned and ifunbox doesnt check the requirements it will work just fine. I even updated it to 1.2.0 by overwriting it using ifunbox. Hope it helps.
