We'll definitely be keeping a continuous eye on balance and difficulty, and we're definitely open to adjustments. We think that we've found a challenging but achievable difficulty balance right now for most core-leaning gamers. If you're still struggling after a bit more time, definitely shoot us a mail with your save game data (via the envelope in the game) and we'll have a look at where the balancing might have been too tough. Is it not possible to just have an "easy" mode as well for casual players? Lili had a "kid" mode too...and it contained IAPs. Unless you guys think having the easy mode will totally kill the IAPs....yeah money talks I guess these days.
so far it really like the game the controlls seem to be interesting so far i think i need some time to get into especially the dodge function but it´s awesome to see such a piece of art on my iphone 4 without lags so far
I'm interested bit this has been in Canada for quite some time now and we are just getting it now. I'm gonna pass seeing that it is episodes that we will probably have to wait ages to get or sit around while another country gets them months before us.
I have played many freemium games that you can see they want you to buy stuff for real money and Im sorry to say but bladeslinger is one of those games. I dont care how devs say it isnt, because it obviously is and anyone can see it. They try to cover it and say its supposed to be hard... Its not hard its frustrating and unfun, BIG difference. I love hard game I have played and completed ninja gaiden lots of times, it hard in a way that you must learn the combat and the enemies and be on your toes. You can fail but you just try again and overcome the challange. Its hard in a fun way! Same with dark souls that Im playing now. One of the hardest games where you must learn the enemies and how to win over them. Bladeslinger is not hard like those games. Its frustrating because the mobs almost instantly attack you and you dont have any time to react. You have a low field of view especially when fighting 2 mobs. You are gonna get hit! And the only way to get health again? Buy hugely expensive potions! Dont have coin? Buy from IAP! Dont want to spend more money? Well we already took $3 from you so its all good you can uninstall it
Yes it was available in CA App Store but in a state of beta, they did a soft launch to get feedback from players and improve the overall game experience /optimization, balancing, bug fixes etc. That release and this one is not the same thing.
Masochist spotted ! ..But yes, I more or less agree with what you are saying.... I have put some more time into this game and it does comes across as unfairly hard. The devs have mentioned that there might be some balancing done? I am definitely going to put this aside for now until the 'difficulty' is toned down.
Or at least if they offer an easier mode. But like I said above, cause the devs are after IAPs, they won't offer an easier mode for the more casual players...they're sure to want to milk them as much as they can.
Very annoyed that devs advertised this to run on iTouch 5th gen. Someone earlier mentioned editing the plist, there are no compass true or false mentioned here, what is this guy on about!!! Obviously not tried it himself.
So I really want to like this game but I can't get into the controls during a fight at all. The biggest problem here is that I don't know when the animation for shooting or slashing ends, thus making it all just a mess flicking my finger over the screen constantly. Normally I don't have any problems with touch controls, so help how to overcome this is appreciated
Amazing visually, fun combat and controls (except the "off screen" buttons that never work) would make this a 5 star game, the IAP makes it a one star. As an earlier poster said, it's obvious the devs are out for your cash. True, everything can be attained through gameplay only but the catch is that gameplay requires repetitive play of chapters. That's fine for someone (like me) who doesn't mind grinding each chapter 50 times if only to stick it to a greedy IAP system like this. It doesn't change the fact that this game firmly targets your wallet as its main source of income and that is incredibly annoying and insulting to us as consumers. It's episodic to boot which means you're expected to shell even more out to finish the story and that CAN'T be attained through regular play. The developers themselves describe this as a core game so they should know better since us core gamers are the most vocal against IAP. We'd also be willing to pay more than $2.99 for a premium game minus the begging.
I posted a five star for this on the appstore and i will admit it took me an hour or two to get used to the controls but when i had i thought they suited the game perfectly.Although the game seems differcult at first its really not after you unlock the health card i never used another potion after that.Well done to the devs i hope this does well so we see a follow up.
Deleted it. Just couldnot get use to the controls. Damn this game looks amazing to I'll wait for a control update and if one dies not come then I think $3 wasnot a bad deal.
How do u beat the bar monster in ch. 2? Ive tried everything but everytime he regenerates health when hes dazed. Ive tried everyway but when hes dazed, his health wont go down anymore than will go right back up then repeat...
Developers, I have noticed that there are App Store reviews of your game where people are rating your game one star for silly reasons, and no matter how awesome your game may be, this will always be the case. Please allow iPods (for 5th gen owner benifit) to purchase this game (people who don't read app descriptions have nobody to blame but themselves). Whether or not you allow iPods to buy your game there will always be dummies out there that will rate your game poorly for dumb reasons (like not reading app descriptions) and this concern about having poor ratings because of it should... please reconsider. (You would also have more positive ratings too. And more sales)
My God, just realized something. Immediately I hate the devs here. Bladeslinger should fail like no game has ever before. Look at this: ---------------------------- You must play this game... ***** by relyes Beautiful!! Like no other game in the App Store! --------------------------- relyes is the game developer, and his 5 star comment of the game is TOTALLY unwaranted. its the top rated comment too...I wonder if all the top 5 star ratings are fake or not
Okay, would you like some cheese? It would go so well with your wine!!!!!!!! I would absolutely say that you need to get a life! Is this all you do? Go back and forth complaining about this game? We all get it. You don't like the controls. Because its to hard to swipe your finger and your to stubborn to learn. All the time you've spent bashing the game could have been spent doing something productive. So exactly why do you keep coming back to this thread? And why did you go, long after you decided to be lazy with the controls, to the App Store to check reviews?
I come back to see if the devs are considering alt controls, and what others think of it too. I went to the iTunes page hoping to catch the reaction of the general populace, hoping they'd voice out about the controls too. I am not stubborn to learn, mind you. But where there is a pretty simple way to implement an alt controls scheme when so many are requesting for it, this reeks of ignorance and foolishness on the part of the devs. Oh well, anyway, I've lost what little respect I've had for them after seeing the hideous 5 star comment from the head of Kerosene Games on the iTunes Appstore.
