To crack Blackbox’s puzzles you’ll need to find solitude and stillness, climb mountains, call on friends, get in tune with the cosmos, and think outside the box. Minimalistic visual clues make for incredibly satisfying “Aha!” moments, while sonic interfaces provide an extra level of guidance and nuance that makes Blackbox accessible with or without vision. Thoughtful haptic feedback, Easter eggs on Easter eggs, and solutions that can’t be found beneath the glass of your screen redefine what a puzzle can be. You’ll never see your device the same way again. Think you’re clever? Prove it. (Blackbox is a living game under active development by Ryan McLeod. When not eating burritos or drinking coffee, he’s busy designing and developing new Blackbox challenges.) ■ Information Seller:Shapes and Stories LLC Genre:Education, Puzzle, Trivia Release:Feb 24, 2016 Updated:May 25, 2024 Version:2.2.15 Size:106.2 MB TouchArcade Rating:Unrated User Rating: (8) Your Rating:unrated Compatibility:HD Universal orton1227 Active Member Nov 14, 2013 32 0 6 #2 orton1227, Feb 26, 2016 I wish I was smart enough to play these games. Barely made it through the tutorial. No idea what to do on first level (yellow sun). Oh well. I'll wait for a walk through. akhenaten New Member Feb 26, 2016 4 0 0 #3 akhenaten, Feb 26, 2016 Think outside of the game. Most of these puzzles are about how we use the device itself. Also, there isn't a strict level progression. Complete in any order. As for this one, you're close to the right idea, but it's not a sun. Look closely: does the sun look a little flat on one side? Also, did you play Sword and Sworcery and unlock anything special? Sorry to not be more obvious (I trust I make myself obscure), but easy solutions ruin the game, because the pleasure is in the realization. I'm still puzzling out six purple lines. warpling Member Jul 16, 2015 14 0 0 http://www.twitter.com/warpling #4 warpling, Feb 27, 2016 Great hints akhenaten. Spot on. As for those purple lines, does it look at all familiar? warpling Member Jul 16, 2015 14 0 0 http://www.twitter.com/warpling #5 warpling, Feb 27, 2016 Anyway sorry I'm late to the party! Here's the original TA form post from the beta. As a one man team I'm incredibly stoked right now because Blackbox just passed Candy Crush for free puzzles in the UK and passed Two Dots in the US! Insane! Let me know if you guys have any questions about… anything! akhenaten New Member Feb 26, 2016 4 0 0 #6 akhenaten, Feb 27, 2016 Let me say it this way: I used a hint on the leftmost square, and now have achieved the rightmost four squares. The leftmost two just aren't blinking. The Siri-style one is really bothering me. To temporarily fix it, pull open/close Control Center or Notification Center (activating Siri briefly even works) basically anything to briefly background the app will clear up the issue. It may make some lights inaccessible though in which case you'll only see their dot glow when you tap the grid and send out a "ripple." You're right though, it could be hard to tell a tough meta challenges from, say, the TouchID challenge your iPad can't solve. Do you think it'd be better to make those challenges' dots completely invisible? Spoiler I'm surprised *not* having Touch ID would be a problem, bc of the solution to that level. Does that mean that level isn't accessible to anyone with an iPhone 5 or lower?" saosijs Well-Known Member Mar 24, 2012 1,483 2 38 Brazil #15 saosijs, Feb 29, 2016 You mean they are visible on the main grid as dots, but you cannot "enter" them? I haven't seen that yet, but that would be ok. If you tap anywhere onscreen now (not on a square and assuming you've not unlocked every puzzle yet), you'll see the remaining puzzles you've not unlocked yet glow in colour. warpling Member Jul 16, 2015 14 0 0 http://www.twitter.com/warpling #17 warpling, Mar 1, 2016 Exactly So currently on a device like an older iPad that can't possibly solve a certain puzzle, it will never show up as an unfilled square, but its dot will glow when you tap the grid (this is partially b/c many people are playing between their iPhone/iPad with iCloud sync). warpling Member Jul 16, 2015 14 0 0 http://www.twitter.com/warpling #18 warpling, Mar 1, 2016 AppUnwrapper, that's correct: iPhone 5s and lower and iPads without touchID don't have that puzzle. Some iPads also don't have proximity sensors and some don't have GPS… generally they're pretty on par though! beats android's sensor fragmentation!
