I was about to post something on this.

I watched the video from their PC version and it actually looks like it could be fun. Simple, pretentious, ugly fun.

    I'm tempted to try it.

(I entered that video into your post, BTW)

you know you're right, it does look like it could be fun. I'm curious how solid the gameplay is.

Is the player confined to an arena type area, or can they traverse the "city"? Because it looks like it would be possible to travel a few blocks or something.

If so...add in some vehicles and you'd have a very, very, very ugly looking 3D Grand Theft Auto. ;)

Other than the graphics the game is actually pretty fun.

    U.K.

This could well develop into the first cult-app. It's strangely, or squarely, atmospheric, fast paced, and butt-ugly to boot. If the devs are willing to take this somewhere, it will go far! Hope they keep the "unpolished" looks.

    PC version is cool!

BUT wait WTF, Black Shades on iPhone o.0

I talk sometimes to a dev at Wolfire (the indie company that make that game) and this guy didn't know it was on iPhone so I'm not sure the port is really from Wolfire Games

I'm still waiting for an answer from them, does the guy who ported this game to the iPhone had the permission !?

They say the game is open source, so I wouldn't be surprised if someone just ported on their own.

All I can say is that it's an amazing game. Simple-looking but a lot of fun.

Yes but, its $0.99, the profit on this game go to Wolfire Games or the dumb that ported it !?

Maybe its an open source, he can port it yes, but not sell it without permission...

I'm not buying it if the profit don't go to Wolfire Games, although its a really cool game

Wolfire Games is the genius behind Lugaru. Awesome game it would be for the iPod Touch.

The game's webpage states "Infinite randomly generated city." I assume that's the same on the iphone.

It reminds me of Hitman... but it's not at all like Hitman:confused:

It's a very atmospheric game. As the bodyguard, you have to identify the assassins as they come up to the VIP. It gives you an adrenaline rush to try and track down killers who don't care about you, but only the VIP. The game can get quite hard. As far as graphics goes, they're terrible, but for the kind of game it is, they don't really matter. In fact, they fit the kind of game feel that Black Shades has.

Just picked up Black Shades. Don't let the graphics fool you, it's alot of fun.. at $.99 it's a good deal, IMHO.
