I think it looks like a great device! The idea of having one thing always connected is a pretty sweet idea. I love Asus' products and own the G73 and soon to be the Eee Pad Transformer. Only thing I see them copying is the text font but that's it... :/
It's not about the product/s. It's about the way that keynote was handled. Have u never seen a stevenote?
Asus is based in Asia o.o?.. Actually, I just watched my first Steve Job's keynote (yeah, I'm embarrassed), and there's definitely quite a few similarities in how the Asus chairman presented his product. Lol, no one laughed at his Steve Job's joke except for himself though..in any case, personally, I don't find the device to be anything remarkable or useful at all. But yeah, I watched the the keynote on the first iPad release from January 2010. It was actually pretty good.
Deny it all you want, but I'm pretty sure that this'll be the future. Empty shells with just one main "device" that you keep all your stuff in. Want to upgrade computers? Don't shell out a ton of money for a new monitor, etc. Just buy a new "device" and all you're tech is upgraded at once.
It's a wonderful concept but without a standard docking port all hardware manufacturers can agree on the exact opposite is true. The second you upgrade your phone the tablet or laptop dock is now completely useless. This would also add new restrictions on the size and shape of the phone as it would have to fit into a docking slot.
