I played the demo and it was fantastic :D. I saw this too but was too lazy to make a thread.

Actually, same here. I wonder if they're planning to bring in Bit.Trip.Runner as well.

Played it for the chiptune goodness. Wiiware got too many gems right now. I can't wait for super meat boy.

This game rules! It's like musical 8bit beat (as in rhythm beat ;)) ping pong!

Really looking forward to this - I'm a sucker for 8-bit musical games.

Note: I am actually not being a sarcastic ass *here*.
Are there actually many games out there that fall under this grouping other than the Bit.Trip series?

I actually have not played this game before because I do almost all of my console gaming on the Xbox 360. I just made the thread because the game looks cool and is upcoming. Is anyone else loving this pixel-esque/retro art style throwback that has been going on in the gaming industry for a while now?

Meh, I'm a sucker for 8-bit games and a sucker for rhythm/musical games, so this is especially good.

"Bit.Trip Beat plays like a marriage of Pong solitaire and Guitar Hero. Like Pong, the main objective is to use your paddle to stop balls from flying past your guard. Like Guitar Hero, those balls are timed to stay in rhythm with the music.

Player’s will be able to control their paddle through tilting their iDevice (much like the original version) or through touch controls. The original WiiWare game has been ported completely, meaning everything players had loved about the original will be found here.

The better a player performs, the more the presentation will evolve. New visuals and music are introduced the longer they survive. Inversely, let too many balls past your paddle and the presentation will regress to simpler forms.

In addition to the complete game that series veterans already know and love, Namco will be introducing some new twists for Bit.Trip Beat’s impending iDevice release. Downloadable content is being produced alongside series creators Gaijin Games, will take the form of new levels, and is expected to be available for free. The game is also set to introduce four person multiplayer sessions, though it’s still unclear what form the multiplayer gameplay will take."

I really like the look of this. I heard it was one of the best WiiWare games, but never got round to trying it.

I'm not a fan of the Bit Trip series (got Beat and Runner and am not quite happy with either) but some people love them.

My most anticipated iPhone game, and no-one has posted the updates that have frequented game websites over the last week? :O

Playing around with iPhone Bit.Trip Beat (Kotaku)

    ^ Kotaku hands on

iPhone Bit.Trip Beat has new levels and multiplayer (Joystiq)

^ Will have DLC and multiplayer according to Joystiq, but that's not the best bit...

WHOA, BIT TRIP VOID TRACKS WILL BE DLC?!?! SOLD! (Joystiq)

Will be out in fall, which means anytime soon...check every thursday, I wouldn't say this week but certainly before October.

    Awesome! DLC = sold
