No you are not a moron, and it is why I hesitated to buy this, and I am not afraid to admit that I waited and read the thread to see what was going on and then it became free so I downloaded it. This is the exact issue I had with the first game. (I even had to contact the dev to figure out something very basic that could have been explained without spoiling the game) A rudimentary tutorial would be very helpful. Also, the controls are a little loose. It is very difficult to control your hero in the dungeon when moving the stones around to open the doors. Otherwise Im enjoying it.
A tutorial should have introduced the player to the game play elements. It was only by accident that I found out you could touch and hold the screen to do a special attack or ability with the equipped weapon. Other times the touch and hold does not work. Again , no explanation why? Kind of important to know, huh? Also, when you level up , your upgraded stats show on the screen. It would be nice to be able to check your stats when you wanted to. If you can, I have not figured it out yet. Thanks
Tap the health/stamina circle to bring your stats up. Super helpful for deciding between multiple great equips.
Is this game finished yet? I'm got it because it was free, but it doesn't look like the game is finished. I played for a little bit then went to a campfire to save and closed the app but when I got on all my stuff was gone. It seems like this should be a issue that should have been fixed already.
This is a bug that for me, and a lot of other people, has already been resolved hmm. Did it just happen the once?
Well I actually paid for this app, as I did the first Bit Dungeon and was happy to do so, I don't get why so many people are saying it feels unfinished, controls are sloppy I've noticed none of this and I'm really enjoying the game as I did Bit Dungeon. Thnx to the Dev and I'm looking forward to some great updates. (You move in this game as you do in every other dungeon crawler!)
You are right, I tried to make it as evil as I could. I am not joking or trolling. lol. I like evil stuff. My next game might be cutier.
i think the lack of a map is a really significant drawback, at least for me. Secondly, the fact you don't really know for sure if your character is going to attack or not. Most roguelikes either give an indication of target (via circles, squares, outlining etc) or have an attack button. These are in my opinon two very fundamental things 1) for roguelikes and 2) for tap-to-do-everything-on-screen games
Aggh, I just spent 4h straight playing this game, after I beat the fifth dungeon and was given the direction to get out of the Frozen Maze, my iPad battery was emptied. Now I open the app again and I'm back to square one I saved at campfires multiple times while I was playing too! Really enjoyable game but I don't suppose the save being reset is meant to happen?
I've actually encountered something pretty freaky today. So I spawn in the grief forest and make my may north. I was in the desert and I decided to go to the campfire at the top left of the map because my health was drained. After tapping the campfire and sitting down then tapping it again, I nearly shat myself. There was this guy wearing red hiding in a bush and when you talk to him, he briefly says "I Eat..." then he immediatly starts attacking you. He was VERY strong and all I had was the default dagger so beware when you encounter him. If you see him but don't tap him, then you'll be able to walk safely to the next area. Edit: When I went to do it again, it was a different person so it varies
That guy isn't strong. I've never lost to him. The old circle and strafe works well. Hehheh. Anyway. Mr Kinto. Love the game, Spending hours on it. Here's what it's doing that right pisses me off. I just started up my game and I'm level 1 with 13 coins in a dungeon with no gear. I got mauled. For some reason it reset my character but not anything else. That sucks. Heh. I dunno why. It's been doing that every third to fifth play through
There are way too many terms in this game that I don't quite get. What does Dexterity do, faster speed or bigger chance to dodge? What about Spirit? And Intelligence? Is M.Armor Magic Armor? How does Magic work to begin with? Echoen posted a list that explained a number of stuff, but even he had to make a few guesses.
I have a thread in the steam forum for this game over at http://steamcommunity.com/app/331440/discussions/0/620700961114019996/ discussing the various stats and weapons. It's grown rather lengthy now but I'll copy over the latest of what I have on stats. Primary Stats: Every 5 points in a stat adds 1% chance to do the following: Strength - Cleave Dexterity - Critical Hit Intelligence - Proc Spirit - Smite Constitution - adds 5 Health and 10 Stamina Armor - reduces damage from physical attacks Magic Resist - reduces damage from magic attacks Secondary Stats: Crit - Deal x3 damage Super Crit - Deal x5 damage Deathstrike - Deal 10x damage Cleave - Deal 2x Damage in a small radius Super Cleave - Deal 4x Damage in a small radius Proc - Deal magic damage on hit (I've got negative int. Need some help testing) Super Proc - Deal magic damage on hit Smite - Deal x2 Damage. Deals x3.5 Damage ??to enemies above an HP threshold?? Super Smite - Deal x? Damage. Life Steal - Restore health on hit. All damaging 'on hit' effects take priority over this. Buff - When activated on receiving damage, greatly increases Armor and Magic Resist Berserk - When activated on receiving damage, increases attack speed. Parry - ??Halves damage of one attack?? Stun - ??Deal ~x1 damage?? and prevents enemy action for a short duration Block - Block an incoming attack Dodge - Dodge an attack Regen - Dodge an attack and regenerate % health Phase - Dodge an attack and teleport randomly Run Speed - Gain increased movement speed after moving a fixed distance
I'm totally digging the game, but it's in dire need of an optional virtual joystick. At this point the deaths are too cheap and it's due to the sloppy controls. Any chance you could make this happen in a future update?
