The game is auto-rotating :) Just make sure you don't have auto-rotation locked on your device ;)

OK, no, it's no good... I simply can't play it with the current control method. :(
Pressing a button on the right side of the screen to make my bike go left (backwards) just doesn't come naturally to me.
Similarly, pressing a button on the left side of the screen to make my rider lean right (forwards) is just as non-intuitive.
I've bought the game, I've tried playing it, but it's just not working for me.
Please, please, PLEEEEEEEASE consider implementing a secondary control option, where the whole left side of the screen is the brake/reverse, and the whole right side of the screen is the gas, and then have literal tilting for leaning.
Even apart from this, I find the control buttons to be too low, and getting my thumbs to sit over them means I am holding only the bottom of my iPhone, with my thumbs and fingertips, rather than having my iPhone sit more comfortably in the middle of my hands.
I see in the Settings that I can move the buttons upwards, but the problem with that is that they then start to obscure the rider on the left and my view of the upcoming track on the right. :(
Until then, I will keep the game on my iPhone and hope/wait for an update before I continue playing it... :(
It's unfortunate, because this is an awesome looking game, and I really want to play without getting badly frustrated by the controls. I want to be "happily frustrated" by the complexity of the courses! :)

Oops, sorry, my mistake. I launched the game with the iPhone held vertically, and that's just the position it settled into, so I rotated it that way and assumed that's what I was stuck with, having checked the Settings for a flip option and found none.

have to say that extreme levels are quite disappoint, basically just short maps with few tricks that need very precise controls and that's all.

Seriously loving this game, I am up to the medium levels(3 starring all levels as I go) and this is the best trials game on ios. Controls are spot on, graphics are colorful, physics are fantastic. Thank you mountain sheep and qwiboo for this treat of an app that I will be playing for months to come!

The great thing is that you get to now go and make the Extreme levels that you desire with the track editor!

    :)

That would completely ruin the game. It's brilliant as is.

Have you played any platformer which has movement buttons on one side? Pick any. 1-bit Ninja... Sorry wrong example. Umm.. say League of Evil. There too, you have to push a button on the left to move right. Do you face any issues there?

I am sure you genuinely are facing issues trying to control the game, but really think of the buttons like a joypad. You'd typically have directional keys on the left and A/B buttons on the right.

Believe me, if one prefers buttons, the controls here are much better than the competing trials games. As far as a lesser mortal like me is concerned, I have never managed to play trials with tilt controls on iDevices.

Firstly, I'm not talking about a platformer, I'm talking about a "speed-biking/driving" game. I'm not that much of a platformer player anyway.
Secondly, I tend to not like ANY iOS games with "fake" virtual joypads, and much prefer iOS games with more touch-screen oriented controls, such as tilting (Rolando), swiping (Fruit Ninja), tapping on a particular spot to go there (Toki Tori), tapping *anywhere* to perform an action (Jetpack Joyride).
    You get the picture...

I have ALL the Trials bike type games, and also those similar style games with cars or trucks, etc. and for ALL of them I use tilt controls, where I tilt my device to tilt the vehicle.

Well, then your only hope is Timo giving you tilt options.

Everyone is praising this game like it's a master piece when it's not. A LOT could be improved. The physics on the bike is extremely stiff. It's pretty floaty when you take jumps. The game play isn't 100% smooth. etc etc etc. Now I'm not saying it's bad, it's pretty fun, but stop acting like its the best thing since sliced bread. The cat on the back of the bike is dumb. They need to add more bikes and characters. etc. *Puts on flame shield.

lol, is this dude really complaining about a tiny cat on the back of a virtual bike in a video game? LOL . Sounds to me like someone may be having an LTP issue.

Anyways this game is great.. just really great. Can't beat the price. Although I wonder how long I'll keep my top 5 status.. it's getting very tough. :D

Is it a special price just for the launch ? Or it will be always at 0.99 ?

Are there achievements in the Game Center, or only leaderboards ?

I agree with this. This is a very good game but something seems off about the controls. I think acceleration of the bike is a little too fast and I crash into things really easily. Some coins are a little too hard to get, which makes the game extremely tedious when we have to keep repeating the same section to get them. Takes away the fun.

Some levels also have too many uneven surfaces that we are forced to go over, aren't people supposed to avoid them instead of having to bike over them in order to complete the level?
