Well, it was a hit&miss for me as well Best advice is: Do a wheelie and try to get to the 4th teeth, then stop and balance and then you have to take teeth by teeth by leaning a little backwards and give some gas to go over each teeth. That's how i did it. I must tell you that im trying the same level again for 15 minutes to do it faster and increase my score, but i can't get over the teeth again!!
Either site reviewers are busy playing this game or trying to pretend it doesnt exist. The only mainstream site I have seen with a review is Pocketgamer... I hope this game keeps traction in the media. Love it! couldnt find it on metacritic either
This game is like the Dark Souls of iOS games. Only it's hidden behind casual/cutesy graphics. I'm about half way through the hard levels and getting 3 stars on all of them is difficult to say the least. I dread to even think what the extreme levels are like.
Its selling for sure though. It's the top paid app in Indian store. Though India is a very small market for iOS games, sadly.
I've 3 starred all of the Hard levels -- minus the Joker levels, of course. I did improve my time on Joker Cat 3, but I must say, that bomb bridge is one of the worst things I've ever experienced in a game. Awful to the point that I'm about ready to rip my iPhone in half. I don't mind a challenge, but that bomb bridge just feels really cheap and random. Nothing to do with skill at all. I'm sure others will view it differently, but I hate it.
Soo... Joker cat 3. How does one get onto the bridge? I can make it over both pyramids in a timely manner with no crashes, but for the life of me I can't make the tiny jump onto the bridge. Any tips?
Ha! I had the same problem when I got there. I don't know if it works every time, but try backing all the way up the bottom of the big ramp/hill, then press and hold the accelerate button. You should just pop up onto the ramp! EDIT: I just went back to try it, and it took me a few times to get it doing the way I described. You could try to tilt back a little bit, but I've found that I usually don't have to do that to get it to work.
Thanks man! The problem I have now are the 3 "spikes" right after the bridge, I make it over the bridge, but die on them every single time... I was "hoping" to bring my completion time under 30 minutes, but I guess that's not gonna happen now! xP
Yeah, just when you think you are safe and sound after the bomb bridge, you hit those 3 ramps which are a huge pain! But I finally figured out my method this morning. Go over the first ramp, and go nose (front tire) down to the bottom of the other side. Now hold the left arrow button, and "pump" the accelerate button. What I mean by that is keep pressing it. You'll notice that when you take your finger off the accelerate, that the front tire will start going up the second ramp. Once you see that, don't press accelerate, and the bike will continue going up the second ramp. Now you have to find the right time to press the right button. Otherwise, the Baron's head will tilt back and hit the first ramp and crash. From there you should be setup to go over the second ramp. Repeat on the other side, though the spacing between the 2nd and 3rd ramps is a bit more lenient. Let me know if that doesn't make any sense. Kind of hard to describe in words.
Nah, it's cool, man. Thanks! It's pretty similar to what I was doing, except I still need to get the timing down... Gah. I think I'll go play something else for now... Edit: 46 minutes, something like 400 restarts later I have done it! Woo! ...for three stars you want me to do it HOW fast!?
Nice job! Yeah, I don't think anyone tested out those times on JC3. I've almost completed the level without a crash, but even if you go quickly there is no way you'll do it within 30 seconds (unless there is some secret way of doing it that I'm missing).
I've decided that I hate this game. Difficulty is fun, yes, but after JC3 the levels turn from very difficult (which is still fun) to asinine. Pixel-perfect jumps are only fun if they're doable. If you can still feel like you were thiiis close - then you will want to come back and try again. When I'm mashing directional buttons hoping to hit some vague pattern, I am not having fun. Also note, this is coming from someone who has beaten Trials and Trials HD with zero crashes. That said, I will still play later. Apparently I am indeed a masochist...
We tested all levels and all goals! They're all achievable, even if it's hard to believe We will be making some tweaks to the JC3 for the next update tho. It should not really be that hard.. As I said above, I'm hoping the update will make that level much more enjoyable. I'll personally oversee that! We also have Facebook page now, so please join us there if you like the game and are fb residents https://www.facebook.com/pages/Bike-Baron/164887920270690 Thanks again for all your support! We are blown away by the success of Bike Baron so far!
Then I take that back! I'm impressed that someone achieved it. I guess I find myself stopping and setting myself up too much to make it in 30 seconds. I feel like there is a much faster way to deal with the 3 ramps at the end, but I haven't figured it out. I'd love to see a video of you guys doing it. I definitely enjoy this game a lot! I've found all of the levels to be pretty good. Now that I've 3 starred all of the levels (except for Joker and Dragon's Teeth), I think the levels are very well designed. Once you take the time to learn the moves, then it is just a matter of putting them all together. I never thought I'd get Sawbones, but then I nailed all 3 stars this morning. But as you know the only two levels that I think are unfair are JC3 (which you guys are tweaking) and Dragon's Teeth. The problem I'm finding with the teeth is the physics. There have been numerous times where I'm moving through the teeth, only to have a tooth skewer the motor cycle. I'm frustrated because I feel like the physics are getting the best of me, and it is definitely more luck than skill based. Again, excellent game! I haven't had this much fun with a game for awhile now.
Jc3 Glad to hear JC3 is being tweaked. That level is liable to cause a stroke. I'm #1 on the leaderboards at the moment and I still can't believe those times have been tested. Thanks to whoever posted the "mounting the bomb bridge" tip. That little jump was a real hang up for me to repeat consistently. For the three spikes at the end: drop between them with the rear wheel leading and "lean forward" stamped down so you don't hit your head on the back when the suspension bottoms out.
Hit the gas and start tapping lean right with your forefinger (my thumb can't do a light enough "tap") as soon as the front wheel hits the pyramid. Very the rate of tapping (it's pretty slow) to keep your front wheel just grazing the pyramid. Tap too quickly and you'll lose traction in the back tire, not quickly enough and you'll tip backwards.
