Thanks to whoever it was that gave advice on the dragon's teeth. Worked perfectly (tapping back while keeping gas on). There is absolutely NO chance for me to get 2 or 3 stars on that one. I wonder how many people can unlock the extreme bonus track. Can't be too many.
Ugh! I'm having trouble getting under the time limit on the easy levels, so I guess I have no hope for the later levels. On Easy track #10: "Free Fall", how do I get under the time-limit? Is there a trick that I'm missing? As far as I can see, I ride the track perfectly, no mistakes, perfect technique, yet I still come in under just a fraction of a second every time! I need to get 00:17.500 but the best I can get is 00:17.614. Very frustrating!
Here's a question I can't figure out the answer to. What is the meaning of the number that flashes up every time I pass a gas pump? It seems to vary depending on how fast I ride past it? Does it affect my score somehow, or my times?
I did not have trouble with easy levels, but am always just under the time limit. In most cases within hundredth of a second under the time limit. Do not lose hope As for your problem with "Free Fall", trick is to not get too much air in the first jump, but enough to clear the bumpy section following the first ramp. Another thing, while going downstairs, accelerate a little bit when you'r on the platform, but not flat out. This will ensure that you are going backwards at a decent pace. Once you are down, just flat out accelerate. I really need to see the leaderboards for this game...
Thanks for the reply. I'll keep persisting. I have another problem now though... How do I get the coin at the top of the "ladder" in Easy level #13: "Bowtie Warrior"? It seems I can either jump the ladder safely and land on the other side, missing the coin OR I can get the coin by doing a backflip at the top of the ladder, but then crash back down into the dynamite below the ladder
Here's something I found weird... On some courses I found it really hard to complete it under the time limit to get a star. Every time I crashed, I would re-start the whole track over again, rather than just re-starting from the last checkpoint - thinking that I would be penalised some time for crashing and restarting from a checkpoint, or if not that, then I thought I'd at least lose some time by having to accelerate back up to speed. But no, as it turns out, it's often quicker to complete the track just to ride like a madman and to not care whether you crash, and when you do crash, then just pick up again from the checkpoint and carry on. There have been several course where I must've tried a hundred times to come in under the time-limit in one complete un-broken run, and I failed each time. I try this other method of just carrying on from the last checkpoint and hey-presto! I manage to come in under time all of a sudden! Surely this is not right?
farley : The numbers that pop up when you hit check point (red and green ones) indicate your performance this run compared to your best run. So if it shows as red you're driving slightly slower than you did on your fastest run. If its green and you can keep it green you'll improve your time for sure Your other point - It depends on where you crash. The crashing itself isn't penalized but your race time do not reset when you yourself reset to checkpoint. So, if you go to checkpoint at time X, then you drive for 2 seconds and crash, you restart back at the checkpoint with time X + 2 those seconds you drove before crashing.
I'm stuck on this same one as well. I was able to get the coin once. Just before the ramp that sends you towards the coin and ladder, there's a landing ramp. If you land on that ramp, you maintain enough speed to hit the coin and land on top of the ladder. I didn't do a backflip, but I did lean the nose of the bike back as far as possible without flipping, then quickly pushed the nose forward to land squarely on top of the ladder. Unfortunately...when I came to the end of the ramp, I hit the explosive barrels, so my coin grab didn't count. I've been unable to duplicate it since.
For the easy levels I thin I got them all, but the medium levels .... holy cow it is two or one stars so far. But I am loving it! I will never earn three stars but I want to finish all levels on one or two at least! Great job devs!
If you keep playing you can get 3 starts on most of the medium levels as well, just don't give up and try playing one level over and over when trying to get the 3rd star, that way you will practice and get to know the track more. Many tracks have small tricks you need to do or find, the most obvious way is not always the fastest or best way We will give you some time to try and beat the levels and and once everyone is too desperate and no-one can pass the remaining levels we will post video solutions of how to get the stars on them Or if you have camera and are able to get all the stars feel free to record the run and slap it on youtube! Thanks everyone for your support! We will make sure to return it in updates
Trick is to go flat out and hit the top rung of the ladder with the back wheel, and then let go of the back lean (you could even hit lean forward at that point). Because of the back wheel impact you will rotate clockwise and collect the coin as you line up for the forward ramp. You will need a few tries, It's not at all easy!
Since you don't have to worry about time for that particular star, I just kept trying over and over again from the checkpoint. I'd typically back up onto the ramp and then gun it. I got the coin a bunch of times but had trouble with the two coins after that one, neither of which is really easy. The last one was actually really tough too so make sure beforehand that you know how to get that one without crashing. Anyway, I'd gun it from the ramp and, although I got that coin by leaning forward and backward on different occasions, I intially thought it was easier to lean foward and bump the front tire off the ramp, get the coin, and then lean forward again to catch my front tire on the top of the ladder. I just went back to do it again before posting this and now think it's easier to lean back, bump the rear tire off the top rung, get the coin, and then lean forward to catch the front tire on top of the ladder. But you can absolutely do it by starting from the checkpoint and backing up onto the landing ramp. Hope this helps.
I got that coin, but I'm forgetting how I did it. I think I hit the brakes at the top of the ramp and then did a flip, but don't quote me on it. I took a bunch of tries anyway. This game definitely gets more challenging as it goes and it's an easy recommendation at 99 cents. Great game! However the physics are a bit wonky, like how you can hang on a edge on one wheel. Maybe that's necessary to make the game a bit easier due to the touch controls, or maybe it's a bug that can be fixed. Oh, and sometimes the game crashes when I go back into after having done other stuff, and sometimes the sound is off no matter what I do with the volume controls and game settings. I have to force quit the app and relaunch it to get the sound back.
Pretty fun level, looks cool but very easy. Still, I'm at the joker of the medium levels so its just what I needed to be reinvigorated for more punishment
I downloaded it too. My first user track download. You can pretty much just hold the gas on through the whole thing except the very end, so yeah, super easy, but that can be fun. I was a bit disappointed to see that user levels don't have leaderboards, but I suppose that's not a surprise. I wish it could do that, though.
