Want to know if anyone has been hit by this storm yet. We are scheduled to get up to a foot of snow while counties away looking at two feet. Pray our electric doesn't go out
That's a lot of snow! I've never even seen anything like that. I'm a radio dj in the southern us and if we get an inch of snow my phone rings off the hook about whether schools and roads are closed. A few alresdy today, these people are a piece of work down here. Hope one day to escape this wasteland of ignorance. Haha
I live in West Virginia. Forecasting 2 to 3 feet of snow for my area. I don't even want to think about it but I've got a full pantry and gas for my generator so I'm good for a few days.
Good luck guys. I actually saw a few snowflakes today that's all nothing more to see for me I live in west central ms on the MS River. To see a snowflake rocks here I have never been in over 5 inches of snow in my life time
Our forecast here is for 18 to 28 inches now. I like snow, but I don't want to lose power. There's going to be gusts of 60+ mph, so it seems likely we're going to lose power. That will suck. Keeping fingers crossed....
Thanks. I don't mind snow but this much at one time can be dangerous. On the brighter side, I'll have plenty of time to play Crashlands.
Man, can't even imagine all that! Here in Southern California it's 75 degrees but has sprinkled a couple times in the past 2 weeks , but that's it! Wouldn't wanna live anywhere else! So lucky when I think about it! So what if we have an earthquake every 25 years. Then it's perfect from then on! Couldn't complain if I tried! No tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, snow, heavy rain, or any of that EVER! There's lots of reasons why everyone wants and wishes they could live here! Lovin' it! Feel bad for people who have to endure weather-related issues in different parts of the country, but hey, where you live is your choice! #
New Yorker here the storm is approaching! They keep changing the forecasts so it's either 4-30 inches of snow. Lol
Forget what I said about not minding snow. I hate snow. About 20 inches and counting. Drifting up to about 3 feet and my heat pump is making a funny noise. Wind gusts at 25 mph so it's actually snowing horizontally. Still have power though.
It wouldn't be as bad if the wind wasn't blowing so hard. I've got drifts that are 5 to 6 feet. I have to shovel a path for my dogs every couple hours because it just gets covered up.
20+ inches so far.... winds from 20 - 55 MPH have been recorded. 6 more hours of heavy snow, then tapering off around midnight. I bought a pretty bad ass snow blower for this year.... and it won't even be able to handle this snow. The snow is already higher then the auger by about 8". When I bought it - from a landscaping dealer for professionals - the guy said this is the best you can get without going into commercial blowers that cost a whole lot more.
Well it's finally over and the wind has died down. Got about 36-40 inches. Now I just have to dig out. Haven't seen a plow yet so I'm not going anywhere. As you can see, all the snow from that hill in the background ended up on my carport.
We got lucky and only got a 12 inches. Main roads are cleared but side roads and back roads will be crazy for awhile
