Today's commentary/recommendation: CATS: Crash Arena Turbo Cars
Let's be honest here. Nobody quite makes games like Zeptolab (the creators of Cut the Rope). CATS is one of the most polished games I've played in a while, and the core gameplay is really entertaining.

I especially love the fact that you can bet parts on other people's matches. Keeps the game fresh and entertaining even after you've lost 3 matches in a row :)

    Today's commentary/recommendation: Strike of Kings
Strike of Kings has some of the most intuitive controls I've ever experience in any MOBA on mobile. The game plays super smoothly as well, and the matchmaking is insanely snappy.

Monetization-wise, there's of course no forced ads, but you can pay to unlock specific heroes. Alternatively, you can just play with the heroes when they are free for a week (the free heroes change every week). Overall, the best MOBA experienced I've had on mobile!

    Today's commentary/recommendation: Dread Rite
Dread Rite is a 100% free (yep, no in-app purchases or ads) game based on the infamous Warlock mod from Warcraft 3.

The game has singleplayer, online, and local wi-fi game modes and is a game perfectly made for a mobile version of a lan party.
Controls are good, graphics what you can expect from a tiny indie game, and overall it's a really fun game.

    Today's commentary/recommendation: Critical Ops
Critical Ops is as close to CS:GO as you get on mobile. The fact that you can't aim down the sight makes the controls way easier, as you play online in the Team Deathmatch or Bomb game modes.

The game has no pay 2 win elements at all, and the monetization relies purely on selling skins. No forced ads either.

    Today's commentary/recommendation: Tiny Guns
Critical Ops is as close to CS:GO as you get on mobile. The fact that you can't aim down the sight makes the controls Don't let the name fool ya', there are plenty of huge guns in Tiny Guns, which is a free to play arcade shooter with an awesome, polished, 8-bit style.

As for monetization, the game shows you no forced ads, but does allow you to watch an ad to buy gold. You acquire gold through ordinary gameplay rather quickly, though. So I consider this a 100% free casual game. Great fun!

    Today's commentary/recommendation: Robot Unicorn Attack 3
Robot Unicorn Attack 3 is a really solid game, but the new features added to third installment don't add a whole lot of fun. Sure, new features are nice, but useless if it doesn't add to the game.

Monetization is fine, but there are a few too many elements that more or less requires you to spend some dollars on in-app purchases. All in all, the game is still good old fun. It really is. The game is just not as amazing as many hoped it would be.

    Today's commentary/recommendation: Dash Titans
Dash Titans is a casual indie game that works offline, has no forced ads, and in general is just very light on the monetization front. The art style is absolutely amazing!

The core gameplay is fun and challenging, and there are several control mechanics to choose from. Some of the many fun characters to unlock have special abilities too, which adds a nice little extra something to the game.

    Today's commentary/recommendation: Virexian
Virexian roguelike twin-stick space shooter that is free to try, allowing you to play through the first 12 levels before asking you to unlock the full game for $2.

The controls are smooth, the levels are randomly generated, there's a ton of different types of enemies, and over 50 weapons to randomly stumble into. The game is great overall, but DOES require you to pay to unlock the full version.

    Today's commentary/recommendation: Bullet Force
Bullet Force is a FPS somewhat similar to CoD and Battlefield. As opposed to Critical Ops, which the other very popular multiplayer FPS on mobile, Bullet Force has more depth and is overall more developed.

The game is slightly pay2win, as you can buy the currency with which you unlock the weapons. So if you don't want to grind, you can pay, which will give you a slight advantage. Everything else runs smoothly, and the game has an offline mode vs. bots too.

    Today's commentary/recommendation: Battle Bay
In this Angry Birds MOBA... oh, wait... there are no birds at all in this Rovio game? Strange, I could've sworn that was their thing... Oh well.

Battle Bay is a good attempt at a rather unique and different type of MOBA, but the execution is not perfect. The core objective of the game is to control a middle point on the map, but nobody ever goes for the objective, as you can also win by defeating all 5 enemy players, defeating the purpose of having the objective in the first place.

With some balancing and less heavy monetization, this COULD become a great game, but so far I'm only recommending it if you are curious about what Rovio are up to.

    Today's commentary/recommendation: Poly Star!
Poly Star is a small casual, arcade-style space shooter where the HP of the enemies is defined by the amount of sides on their polygon spaceships.

Sounds strange, but works out really well. The game has no in-app purchases (although the dev said he/she might add a "pay to get rid of ads" if it's something the players want?). In terms of monetization, the game throws an occasional ad here and there, but it happens every so rarely.

The controls are nice, and the game keeps you glued to the screen, as you actually have to tap the screen to shoot (no auto-shooting here!). Overall, a neat little indie game.

    Today's commentary/recommendation: Tiny Archers
Tiny Archers is a unique tower-defense'ish action game where you control a single archer trying to defend his tower from hordes of goblins and trolls. A rather unique experience, actually.

The control settings are nice, allowing you to customize the controls to your own liking, and in terms of monetization, the game has in-app purchases and incentivized ads, but you get plenty of gems (the premium currency) just by playing, so I never felt forced to buy anything.

Lovely art-style too, and plenty of levels to dive into. Enjoyed this one :)
