Most of the assets right now are placeholders while the designers work through them. Hoping to have public screenshots in a few weeks along with more details. Sorry for the early teaser I guess... but it's still early in the process. Most indie devs open a beta when they're ready to test gameplay. Due to the nature of our game we needed to do it a little earlier than that. Soon tho. Soon.
So basically, you just want us to test your betwork code first to see how it goes, then make a mmorpg out of it? Acually, if it turns out well, maybe you could sell it to other people lol! You'd make a lot of money off of that
That's awesome. I believe more devs should do it early that way more changes can be implemented if needed.
Is this abandonware, now? Mario-like scroller sounds like Icarus' platformer Lars. Which is pretty much their only game except for Pig Air, but that is certainly not the missing rpg, either.
Yes, shelved. The networking for a real-time iOS MMO became too much for our indie budgets, even though beta testing proved successful on a small scale. The artwork and assets may find their way to an offline-only RPG at some point, but a lot of the past year has been spent on a new custom 3D engine for future releases and various updates to Lars, along with an un-announced board game. For all of those who helped with the Beta, we appreciated the help and we're sorry it didn't pan out. Maybe now that Gamecenter is more robust we could revisit it down the road.
