Hi everyone! EDIT : We've got a trailer now! Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel We're opening applications for Beta tests! Register: https://fr.surveymonkey.com/r/S2TKDXP Do you remember such RPG classics as Dungeon Master, Wizardry or Lands of Lore? Or more recently, Legend of Grimrock? Well, we've been working hard on bringing the Dungeon Crawler experience to mobile. Our game is called Dungeon Monsters, and it's nearly finished by now after a year of development. The Mana Cube team previously worked on such hits as Brave Frontier, Mutants: Genetic Gladiators and Heavy Rain. (the game runs on Android and iOS and will release on both in a few months, but the beta is iOS-only for now) [/CENTER]
Thanks for the feedback guys! What do you like the best in the game? nezuja : when the game is released, we'll definitely be very nice with our beta testers
Loving this game! Feels really polished. Only bugs I have found is it occasionally crashes or often has major lag issues when returning to the inn to pick up rewards. Favourite thing of mine is trying to 100% every dungeon stage. I'm one of those completionist weirdos
[*]Inventory is too little, modern gacha inventory at least had 30, because of the mechanics of fusing similar race/element bonus, you need to have enough inventory to efficiently level up your units, it might put off veteran gacha players [*]Build your cash currency/mechanic design base on successfully & popular games such as Crusader Quest/PAD/etc. [*]Having arena/pvp with high risk high reward is win-win for both players & the company, many players will spend more on cash currency completing but in the end of the season there will only be 3 top 3s, the rest of the lower ranks will still get a decent reward. Rewards as in return of cash currency or evolution mats or etc. [*]Units in the game are not outstanding or rather boring, even UR or Legendary units doesn't seem impressive, adding glows/shines might be a good change. Unqiue names should be given to them, hopefully typical name such as red/blue/white, Knight/Mage/Ranger are just placeholders. [*]Optimizing system, frame-drop are noticeable, at least from my old ipad, suspect more issue will be up on the various spec of Androids.
Hi everyone, thanks so much for the feedback! And especially heatzz, thanks a lot ! This is a work-in-progress build so your comments are extremely helpful to help us improve the game before the launch. Bloodangel: We're thinking to soft-launch the game in a territory (perhaps New Zealand) on Android within about a month, and launch worldwide and both iOS/Android a few months after that. Tyra: if you still haven't, you can register here for the beta test here: https://fr.surveymonkey.com/r/S2TKDXP Have a fantastic day everyone, Nicolas
Quick update! We wrote an awesome, quirky story for the game. We'll roll that out in 2 phases to our beta testers: 1. The order in which you discover the various dungeons and monsters of the game will change in the next build, very soon. We're also tweaking the game balance, so your feedback on that will be super helpful. Oh, and the game is now called Dungeon Monsters 2. Meanwhile we're writing really cool script for all 10 chapters, with NPCs, dialog, etc. This will take a few weeks so it'll be in another version. We can't wait for you guys to read the crazy stuff we've put in there. It involves mushrooms and a guy that looks like Dragon Ball's Master Roshi See you down there! Nicolas
As i went to sign up for the beta, it asked if i played several different games... all of which are massive and F2P... I assume this game will also be available at no charge?
Hi Lickzy, yes Dungeon Monsters will be free-to-play (though I don't know if it qualifies as massive ^^) We feel F2P is accepted in the mind of players by now, and is the way for a small studio like us to create an engaging community of players around a game over several years. What do you think?
I avoid F2P games because I spend WAY too much money on them. However, if done right, I think its a great way to monetize a game. You are a developer, you deserve to make money and I wish you all success in that.
Haha, I know how that feels! Thanks for the nice words! The way to spend money in Dungeon Monster is similar to games such as Brave Frontier, Puzzle & Dragons or Heroes Charge. We feel that system is done really well because it's not based on skipping timers like many F2Ps.
Brave frontier does it VERY WELL. My girlfriend and her twin sister play it religiously. I will suggest they sign up for the beta. Good luck!
