The only cool thing about the game i'm beta testing is that it has online multiplayer.
    Other than that it sucks.
    No offense

    Worms,
The original and still the best IMO.
I have worms and starhogs, and I hate starhogs.

if i could change the selected worm, have online multiplayer, and the low framerate was fixed, then worms would be very good. but star hogs would still have the customization, and the added dynamic of gravity where you can make a shot circle around a planet. so, my vote goes to star hogs, even though the levels look very ugly

Quite frankly, I don't give a toss if I am flamed.
If I want to support a game and give my opinion of 2 games, then I will.

Why do the mods hate worms so much?

I am thinking it could be an American/British thing.

As a limey, I like worms much more because it is very familiar and reminds me of my youth - it was the 1st PC game I ever bought. It has become a classic in my books, any opportunity to grab worms on any device that I own, is an oppertunity taken.

I suppose yanks may not appreciate the nostalgia associated with the worms franchise that took gaming in the UK by storm.

Maybe if Pac Man wasn't popular in the US, only in the UK and then years later, Pac Man and a Pac Man rip-off with some more features came onto the iPhone, the Pac Man ripp-off would be more popular for the extra features.

Anyway, I love everything about worms - the graphic style, the music, the sounds, the gameplay and the controls (even on the iPhone). For me, there will be no better artillery game.... ever.

Ok, say Worms the game was a beautiful woman?
and its the best woman you ever had, your first etc
then have you tried other "women"??? I mean really truly experienced others who are unique in their own beautiful subtle ways without comparing them to your love of your first?

i think you stand together with the likes of "40 year old virgin"
because you never gave a chance to other games because they werent your first nostalgic sweethart

you and maybe 1 in 10,000 has that "40 year old virgin" take on gaming...

I think its great you love worms, but for gods sake try other games for their own u unique offerings: not every game (woman) you experience has to be "Worms" ... And not every game tries to be Worms... (thank god)

    You know what i mean?

    No, it's not like that.
When I think of all the other games I grew up with - i.e - tetris, pokemon, Driver etc. I now hate 99% of them because they are so crap compared to other similar games. For example, I would much rather play GTA: IV that Driver because GTA: IV is so much better.

But worms is my only exception.
They managed to get it right from the start, and it has evolved to keep above the competitors. I have tried nearly all artillery shooters on the iPhone, I own iShoot, PTD, Star Hogs and Worms. I am open to other artillery games, but so far, none has come close to the gameplay and level of polish that you get from worms. 2D turn based artillery game's are so basic and simple that you can see why I still like worms. If Artillery games had gone up a notch with big new features and graphics (which they haven't) then they could possibly beat worms and possibly not be a 2D turn based artillery game anymore. What I am saying is that the genre is so simple, the simple games with high production values, nice graphics, and good gameplay such as worms, are still on top, even today. The whole genre hasn't really evolved much and there isn't really much point in playing other similar games when you already have a familiar game which is just as good and you have known for years.

This sounds funny from one who only likes Star Hogs and deleted all of his/her games off of his/her iPhone just to play Star Hogs. And you can't accuse him of never giving it a try. He owns it and he still doesn't like it.

    Mmm

Star Hogs, i literally cradle my iPhone as i go to sleep ;)

PS. I kept Puzzle Quest and Hero of Sparta, and downloaded ADD Lite as well as buying Zombies (IUGO stuff... You know?)

Ahh, I see. You work for IUGO, don't you? That being said, then it's a great idea to have games from that company. lol And I also understand why you kept Hero of Sparta. That game rocks. Star Hogs is alright. I know we each have an iPhone game that can't be rivaled by others (I Love Katamari).

Haha, im supporting my favorite iPhone game with a fervor i didnt know i had. I get addicted to different games across time

    diablo
    diablo 2
diablo 2 LOD (4 years total)
    starcraft (years)
    world of warcraft (1.5 years)
among others like Americas Army etc
notice all Blizzard? Thats brand loyalty and i enjoy their games
    Also notice: ALL Online games

iphone: first game ever ONLINE to get my blood boiling, my adrenaline pumping and my addiction is clear, this games rocks for me!

on top of that iUGO customer support is unreal and im just smitten :)

besides i do security 40 hours a week and it helps pass the time like no other app ive ever tried...

And no I dont work for IUGO, im just a English major with a pennache for writing :)

add me on facebook and see: Facebook.com/danijel

Why do i want Star Hogs and the DEVs to suceed so much!? Why did i write close to 200 suggestions spanning a ridiculous amount of pages typed on my iPhone???

Because they are a small developer, and i want my enthusiasm to spread onto them and others, and if their Star Hogs game does well, they will keep updating it with more content and be able to produce other games i might enjoy. AND more importantly, with more active players the ONLINE will be more challenging and active... So ill have others to play against 24/7 just like my iPhone is with me 24/7...

So far not too many challengers give me a run for my money online, so im hoping that will change over time and through sheer new player potential: so bring on the nemesis (maybe you yourself?). :)

Every Sunday 4-10pm the CHAOS challenge stands...
Accepting all challengers on a Random level only...
Check out their forums for details: http://cloud.iugome.com/forums/

no other game aver gave me what i love (online) on iphone until Star Hogs...

Worms looks great but why doesn't it have a lite version? Afraid that people will find out about the lagginess, control problems and crashes before they buy it?

Blizzard's great. I haven't really played any of their games, but I know they are.

Interesting. I am still a highschool student who plans to delve into 3D design (solid modeling, video game developing, CGI animation, special effects, and the like).

    Requested :)

That's fabulous. It's the behavior I hope for toward iPhone gaming. It makes me happy to see someone love an iPhone game. It's growing more potential as a system with the passing day. You are doing quite a bit to help the bandwagon on it's iPhone gold rush.

My first online game was Epic Pet Wars. It's quite entertaining, and I have it still, but it didn't really give me the rush of adrenaline you speak of. My first real online iPhone gaming experience was with DinoSmash Online. That, Bomber Online, and F.A.S.T. are great non-TBS online games. I recommend them. If you haven't before, you should try Dinosmash Lite and see what you think.

I have had no problem with lag, runs smooth as silk on my iPod touch 2G running jailbroken 3.0 (which should slow it down anyway, so...)

I have also had no problem with controls,
Ninja Rope: Average but the best that could be done on the iPhone
    Jetpack: Lovely
    Jumping: Easy as 1,2,3
Shooting/Aiming: Simple as Do, Ray, Mi
    everything else: Awesomesauce

Online: Dissapointingly, none yet... HOWEVER, it's coming soon in an update.

I don't know what worms for the iPhone and iPod touch has done to earn so much hate, but it's unreasonable.

Oh and also, I bought Star Hogs as well, worms is much much much much much much much much much much much much muchmuch much much much much much much much much much much much muchmuch much much much much much much much much much much much muchmuch much much much much much much much much much much much muchmuch much much much much much much much much much much much muchmuch much much much much much much much much much much much much better IMO

    Just my 2 cents...

Sorry for double posting, but I didn't really answer the question in my last post.

The best Worms-like game for the iPhone would have to be Worms... nuff said
