I'll second (third? fourth?) Textropolis and Fishtropolis, and that's even knowing that English isn't your first language. They're great if you want to expand your vocabulary, since they give definitions of every word you type. English is my native language, and I've still learned a whole bunch of new words through those games!
I downloaded Vocab U- that is a hard game! I think I am pretty smart, but that game makes my head spin. Need an "easy" button LOL. I like it, but it is VERY difficult.
This is an obvious one, but scrabble. I always liked the board game so I'm obsessed with the iphone game
Im surprised no one has mentioned Abca yet, really polished word game. 4 game modes, leaderboards, unlockables, lots of fun. Also Wordcrasher great as well.

ABCA is one of THE IF NOT THE BEST WORD GAMES ON THE TOUCH! They changed the name it used to be called LEXIC....
Any new word games that should be in this thread? Deciding between Moxie 2, Abca, and Bookworm as of now
I really like Double Across, it's a great take on Scrabble-type games. And the graphic styling is terrific !
