Mysterious Castle is actually more rogue-like, but the battles are squad sized and turn-based. Movement/placement of ranged & melee classes is critical to winning. It's an indie game so it's rough in a few places, but a solid game, huge replay value since the combination of classes is large and the massive maps are randomly generated. Princess and Knight is 100% worth it.. That being said I don't care about the story in games, I am more interested in the tactics required(although I did enjoy Princess and Knights story) Glad to see another LostStar Tactics fan!
I enjoyed it somewhat, but honestly the story just didn't do it for me and the battles felt lackluster, but I might be the only one. I loved the graphics though.
I wouldnt call that an SRPG. Sure you have a party you can use, but outside of that it's all RPG. You wouldnt want to call Baldur's Gate, NWN or the original Fallout SRPG now, would you?
Blazing souls was fun, except those puzzle levels to continue the story, those killed the momentum for me
Squad based tactical SRPG's Hunters 2 Space Hulk Space Wolf Frozen Synapse XCOM Breach and Clear Warhammer Quest What am I missing? Any more gems?
Thanks for creating this topic. great way for me to discover new srpg's as I'm a huge fan of the genre. Current faves: Warhammer Quest Record of Agarest Banner Saga And ofcourse FFT
