I want to know everyone's opinion on the solitaire apps. I want to buy one because I have Solitaire City Lite, which is amazing and I love, but it absolutely demolishes my first generation iPhone's battery. So people, let me know which solitaire app in your opinion has good battery life, and of course that looks good and plays well. Thanks!

I would get Mondo Solitaire. It has many games included and is $.99 cents atm. The only downside is it gets pretty laggy.

I like Acid Solitaire. It costs $10 and only includes 3 games (Klondike, Freecell, and Spider) but it has the best user interface and also seems to do good battery wise - the developer even makes mention of it's battery saving features so it must be true!

good suggestion it looks like it is a good solitaire app but I only have $35 left and I don't want to spend $10 on a solitaire app and I am not planning on buying more iTunes cards anytime soon. If there was a price drop on that one I maybe would get it it looks good.

Oops. Yeah, the price change. Anyways, just read app store reviews. Gamebox solitaire looks pretty nice.

Don't blame you, I'm kind of suprised that they have held the price that high. If you have appsniper, set a snipe up for it, they did run a sale from late October to November.

I have mondo solitaire too. It's not too bad, and not a bad bet for 99 cents.

  12. Are you guys for real? Is Solitaire actually a fun game to play? I played it on windows a few times, but aren't there better games for the iPhone to spend time on?

It's like tanzen for me. When I'm really really bored, I pick it up. No frills no power ups no nothing else. Simple effective ancient gameplay :D

Plus, I always played solitaire during computer class in high school <internet is blocked and no such great flash games yet :p>

If you want something that real basic, get Solitaire.

If you want something with better graphics and is more like Spider, get Solitaire City Lite.

I bought Mondo Solitaire, but am disappointed in the interface. I don't like how it highlights your moves as you do them - it's very distracting. Also, I don't like how tapping any card automatically moves it to the optimum location. It's like you can just tap away without thinking. And it does lag a bit.

I also have Solebon, which I prefer, interface wise, and the only thing that let's it down is that it doesn't have full Spider. I think it doesn't autocomplete either.

Did someone say not to get other iPhone games. I have many including BIA, fastlane, Galcon, .........., but I also like Solitaire. Got a problem?

Another vote for Solebon. Easily the most-played game on my phone.

I originally bought Mondo Solitaire, and I gotta say, the control system for it is absolutely awful. It doesn't matter if the have 100 different games included, it's just terrible to play. I would not recommend it.

I then bought GameLoft's Platinum Solitaire, and I absolutely love this game. It might have "only" 6 different game types, but to be honest, most people I know don't even want to play that many. It's the 6 most popular types, and that's all you need really.
The best thing about it is the control system though. It's all drag-and-drop and it just feels so natural and right.
You also have a few achievements to complete if that's your sort of thing, and it's Casino-themed, and you gamble and win money.

It's pretty cheap at £1.19, whatever the $US equivalent for that is.

In my opinion, this is THEE solitaire game to buy. I honestly quite literally play this game every day.

If you don't want a ton of solitaire versions and really like klondike then I recommend Cookie Bonus Solitaire. I got it a while ago and I love it. It has an online feature where you can chat with other players, cool bonuses for when you play special cards to the foundation, cheats so you can keep your game going, and it's only $1.99.

Another klondike only solitaire app is All Winners Solitaire. It has a nice interface and every deal has a way to win, which I think is nice. And if you can't find the solution there is an option that will show you a way to have won.
