      I'm looking for some good shoot em ups for iPhone/iPod Touch. I'm also not a fan of bullet hell shooters, so please don't recommend anything along those lines.

      The best shoot em up I've seen so far for the platform is the port of Tyrian, but that's not available anymore and I'm sure there's some good original games that I'm not aware of. I also liked Space Invaders Infinity Gene but was looking for something more robust.

      go an try
      - Assault squadron (not really a bullet hell so I will list this here)
      - Roswell (beautiful designed shmup)
      - Warblade (retro supershooter, love the time trial mode)
      - Superlaser
      - Skyforce and
      - Icarus-X (but this game is hard as **** I really suck at it, though tons of fun :))

      Check out Isotope(if you don't have it already). Solid shooter! ;)

      That's most of them, but I'll also mention Ultrablast, Air Attack and...there's always R-Type, of course.

      isotope is a DS Shooter I thought he wanted to know some stright forward vertical shmups

      Ok, then... go for it!!! :D Isotope is the best DS shooter (with critical wave and meteor blitz)
