Friends, I need your advice. I have been kind of out of the loop in PS3 gaming lately... damn iphone My favorite games to play growing up were always RPG's. I've beaten every single English version of Final Fantasy to date. I've realized that I don't have a single RPG on my PS3 Can I get some help here? It doesn't have to be a JPRG, I just want one for now but I want the best! Thoughts/suggestions/opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.
At the moment I'd say either Fallout 3 or Demon's Souls... both are vastly different but they both kick ass. For JRPGs it's probably best just to hold out for FFXIII next year.
Fallout 3 is the only one I've tried, it's good! I wish I had time to play rpg's! I remember my early years spending countless nights playing them. I like you have finished ll the FF's on the snes and ps1.

Fallout 3 is pretty good, but since I am terrible at it and keep getting attacked by super mutant clones I cant really tell you how truly awesome it is.
From his post I'm pretty sure he is talking about Jrpgs. Unfortunately there aren't that many good ones out for the ps3 but the 360 is a different story. Edit: yeah misread it...not many jrpgs...is oblivion for the ps3?
You shouldn't really be anywhere near those things if you can't handle them yet Learn where they hang out... and don't go there.
Anyways, if you haven't played Eternal Sonata I'd suggest picking that up. I love that game. As well as Valkyria Chronicles and if you're one of the lucky early adopters who has a PS2 backwards compatible PS3 then there are plenty to choose from there
Eterna sonota is for the ps3? well definitely pick that up...as for valkarie well it's not for everyone though.
Yeah Eternal Sonata is awesome to look at. Some people didn't really like the modified combat but I thought it was a nice twist... the only thing I'd really change is how linear the game is, could be opened up a little more, stick some optional quests in, some hidden loot etc...
Thanks everybody for the suggestions so far. I made the thread right before I left for Fry's to pick up Uncharted 2. Looking through the titles.. there really weren't a whole lot to pick from! I do have a backwards compatible PS3 but I've already played lots of games for PS2 and I'd like to play something new that utilizes the horsepower of the PS3. I will take a closer look at Demon Soul's and Fallout 3 (i've actually never played any of the Fallout series), and Eterna Sonata sounds interesting though I did not see that in the store. Does anyone know when FF 13 is supposedly due to hit stores?
The fallout series sucks. Fallout 3 is the only good one. All the rest are decent at best and nothing like an RPG
Thanks Midian. that will be an instant buy for me whenever it's ready for ROW. In the meantime I've been looking at video's of Demon's Souls on Youtube. It looks very nice! More of an action-RPG from what I can gather. I think it sounds like you have it or have played it, as well as Fallout 3. If I could pin you down to recommend one or the other, which would you choose?
My recommendations is between fallout and oblivion. Anyone know if mass effect is for the ps3, if so then that too ( I used to own a 360 ).
