Just like sexual innuendos and I might be getting it confused with GangStar (I think both have a similar mission), but there is a mission where you are driving a limo while the politician is getting some in the back, so the limo is a rockin' (dont go knockin). I've been putting Field Commander through its paces today, and it is an awesome TBS. I enjoy it much more than Advance Wars, Mecho Wars, or Rogue Planet. There's a custom map editor, multiplayer, and solid graphics. I keep unlocking new content and the vehicles and weapons seem to be plenty deep. The maps are also a nice size and are getting more balanced as it gets more difficult. I'm getting Peace Walker day 1.
Alright then, I might give the game a shot sometime. Btw, I played the demo of Peace Walker at about 2 A.M. when I realized it was out. And CRAP that game is awesome!! If it has a great story, like every Metal Gear game (MGSTouch doesn't count), then I'll be picking this up. Unfortunately, I'm pretty broke right now, so I can't pre-order, but I'll most definitely pick this up one day.
Alright, if that's the worst there is, then it should be an alright game for me. Btw, Field Commander is better than Advance Wars?!? Wow... that's gotta be one good game. I've never seen it at BlockBuster (or have I... can't remember), but I saw some gameplay and it looked fun. Only thing; is there a quick clip showing the battles like in Advance Wars, Mecho Wars, or Rogue Planet?
I'm not trying to say it's better, but that I enjoy it more. I'm not a huge fan of cartoony games. The DS has a lot of really great games, I just don't like any of 'em cause they are all cartoons. Field Commander has a semi-lifelike feel to it that strikes my chord. There are cut scenes for the attacks that are pretty neat. The game is played top down, but in the cut scenes the camera moves down to ground level and shows the units battle. It also shows all the other units, trees, and buildings in the background. It's cool seeing a helicopter flying in the air on the other side of a map while two tanks battle it out far away. It makes the cut scenes much less repetitive, but eventually you'll be skipping through them like with other TBS. Advance Wars, Mecho Wars, Rogue Planet are all great games, just not my taste.
I, on the other hand, have no preference whatsoever about whether it's cartoony or not. As long as it has a deep, yet not confusing, combat system, I'm set. And that's exactly why I like Advance Wars. It's one of the most complex, yet easy to understand, systems I've seen, and I can't stop playing it once I start it up. How deep is the system in Field Commander, since I'm pretty interested now. Btw, how much for Peace Walker on June 26? I reallly, really want that game, and I'd be willing to give up my copy of Lost Odyssey that I was going to buy, as well as a few other games for it.
Oooo... I have $20 right now... I'll see how much I get for trading in Modern Warfare: Reflex before I decide.
I've been way into the Phantasy Star Universe since the Phantasy Star Online days for the Dream Cast (though I did play the old ones for the Sega Genesis too). Ima sucker for anything Phantasy Star Related lol
Crush is really good, though I'm a bit stuck at the moment. Fat Princess on the PSP is pretty good also, the online is a bit lacking over it's PS3 counterpart, but the single player is awesome. Pursuit Force Extreme Justice, Burnout Legends, Rockband, Rachet and Clank, LittleBigPlanet, Wipeout Pulse, Powerstone, Crazy Taxi, Twisted Metal, GTA: CTW, Brave Story: New Traveler, Pixeljunk Monsters, Lunar. All very good games for anybody looking for some titles on the PSP.
If they have not been mentioned before either, the Monster Hunter titles are fantastic and extremely time consuming games as well.
Definitely. I have Monster Hunter Freedom 1 and 2, and both are great games. I don't have United yet, but my friend says it's even better than those two.
It definitely is better, not that the first 2 were bad. They just keep adding more and more stuff it's awesome. New levels more quests and enemies. The whole 9 yards. I just got it so I havn't gotten to play it a whole lot, but like the other 2 you can import your character so that's always badass.
Yeah, I'll pick it up sometime. The only PSP games I'm dying to get are Peace Walker and Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles.
Aye, I cannot WAIT for Peace Walker. And what is in Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles? Is it a whole new game? or remakes of some of the older ones or what? I picked up SotN a while back. Pure nostalgia and epicness. hahahaha
Just stopped back by this thread for a question of my own, but I figure I'd answer your question first. The Dracula X Chronicles is a whole new (I guess you'd call it new, even though it's at least a year old) Castlevania game with a couple of other past Castlevania games unlocked. And I've actually never played the full version of SOTN before... I just played the demo on XBLA and regret that I don't have any more points to spend on it. I'm just short too... I'm holding off for it to go on sale one week. And now for my question: Any good open-world sandbox games? I already know about all 3 GTA games, as well as Driver '76 which was supposed to be crappy. If you have any other good games like those, please post them. Also, is Vice City Stories that much better than Liberty City Stories? If not, I'd prefer to go with LCS, since it's cheaper and I'm just not a huge fan of what I've seen of the Vice City games.
Midnight Club and The Warriors are the first that come to mind. I wish they would bring GTA2 to the PSOne classics.
