Thanks buddy. Call me tomorrow at 1 Just seeing what people like in platformers.... I guess at this point its not really about my decision, but about what people find interesting in platforming iphone games.
lol fair enough.. but I still think you're kind of milkin' it to make sure you don't waste a buck. I suppose I shouldn't complain too much though as this is definitely better than the people who whine about a buck after the fact
Yeah seeing as I'm a student w/o a job I try not to squander money but i see where you're coming from.
Hmmm, I think Bounce On is a faster game, especially with the speed power-up on world 4 and 5. I did not like Soosiz as much as other people, I really liked the first 4 levels of Soosiz but levels 5, 6 and 7 were just tedious for me, I just wanted to get my gold medals and finish up. You should ask a Soosiz fan though, because I did not like the game much by the end. But both are totally solid games. Hope that helps.
I just bought Bounce On based on the commentary on this thread. I went through the first four levels of the first world and so far so good. Well designed game!
Ha, well, personally I could talk about all these games all day. The bottom line is that they all deserve to be purchased at some point in time, they're all fantastic games. And all pretty cheap prices. But if you're looking for a specific experience, like the best, most challenging, longest lasting, most replayable platformer, then you make a thread like this so people can convince you to get Bounce On. I agree with you, although I haven't finished Soosiz yet. I haven't been compelled to yet, although I do want to go back and play it all. It's a really fun game, just not attention grabbing enough for me. Bounce On is just awesome, it reminds me of some of the best platformers from the 16 bit era and beyond. A new classic, IMO, that's why I'm trying to pump it up and give it the attention it deserves. If you buy both Soosiz and Bounce On, you'll find yourself playing one over the other. I don't need to tell you which one. No sense in buying them both at the same time. I of course say Bounce On, but not just cause it's so great but also cause it's on sale right now and it doesn't really go on sale too much. It's a great deal at $4, but getting it for $2 is robbery. Soosiz I think is normally just $2, and is also a great deal at $1 but I think it's been on sale a couple times before, IIRC. If I were you I'd just pick one out of those two and then go for a different experience, like a Rolando, Spider, or Hook Champ. Getting the one level version of Rolando 2 is a good idea, and you can just buy levels as you go. That way if you don't end up playing it a ton, you haven't spent all the money up front. It's the same price either way. If I'm you, I get Bounce On, Hook Champ, and Rolando 2 First Chapter.
Hey, I'll thank you for this thread, I'm just getting into the iPod touch area and am starting out fresh as I have never followed the games out there and now I'll be building my app library from scratch, so at least threads like this help me out in my search for apps to buy. I love platformers so there are at least a few purchases for me in this thread now that I know they exist!
Why don't you say why Soosiz is better than Bounce On? I see lots of people saying it's better and I don't get why. I get the Soosiz video, I played the game, I got all the gold metals. I'm just curious why you think it's better. And many people do, so you are not alone.
To me Bounce On, is a really nice thing (I hope the devs don't get it wrong) for a slightly amateurish thing. I just got the feeling every other games has much more production value. Compared to them, Bounce On looks and feels a bit like a private development thing, a good one though. I really liked this game back then... but a lot has happend in the App Store since then. Games like Soosiz, Spider, Plushed or Chop Chop Ninja just feel more professional ....my thoughts. But Bounce On is a lot of fun, definitely.
If I already have Spider, Plushed, Soosiz and Rolando, should I get Bounce on? Or just wait til the sequel?
Have you played the new first level of bounce on? It looks much more professional and have you played level 4. Level 4 is up there with any game in the app store. It deserves a second look by you, if you if you have not played it for a while. There have been a lot of updates. It's totally polished now. Plus, when you compare it to a game like Plushed - which is a great game for sure - the game play is so much better with Bounce On. I think it's better than Soosiz too IMHO in terms of game play. I have not played beyond the first few levels of the other games you mentioned, so I don't feel like I can comment. Here is a guess, I think Bounce On is an older game, less people have played it and the old level 1 in Bounce On was a little weak. But they have updated it. I really think its that less people have played it. (Their loss ) It's $1.99 on sale, it's a great game, I would totally get it.
In my opinion Bounce on comes right after soosiz, which I think is the worst of the bunch. I found both boring, they didn't grab and keep my interest unlike the others such as Spider, which I'm replaying now and enjoying a lot
I got Bounce On from the first day! Played all levels, I even was the one suggesting to give the ball a face And personally, I don't like the new look of world one (much cheaper, the old background was much more beautiful and chrisp) and the new music of world one fits better to the last world, but makes everything more childish, the old tracks are fantastic, because they are more synthie sound with their own character. As I said, it's a nice game. I had tons of fun with it. But right know, I'm still saying Chop Chop Ninja is another league... so much fun and with a wonderful production and great controls... I guess, it's fan against fan
