Sorry guys, trace isn't going to be counted in this poll. You can vote for it in the next poll: Physics Based Games.
Trace is about as physics-based as Super Mario Bros. Gravity pulls you down when you jump... wow lets see, how many games feature that little gem of physics simulation...? The game is about drawing lines to get to the goal, if that doesn't make it a line drawing game then... there's something evil going on in this topic.
Agreed. Trace is either a line drawing game or a basic platformer (or both, really). It's not physics based at all.
Flight control Aqual globs Have harbor master but never got into it. FC just seems simpler/cleaner execution of the concept. Might try Heli resue or lions pride.
1 draw race 2 Trace 3 Flight Control There is no reason trace should not be involved, the way to complete the levels is entirely dependent on timing, and line drawing!
I can tell its a wasted vote, but Flyloops! a different kind of line drawing game. Flight control + harbor master + aquaglobs + heli + ad nauseum whatever are really are very similar. Chocolate-vanilla-whatever. Flyloops is very different and deserves at least an honorable mention.
I wouldn't bother, you said it yourself, Flyloops is different. If it's not 100% identical it's getting shoved into another category with Trace
I can see why trace is not being counted. In the other games, you draw a path your object (car, lion, organism) has to follow whereas in trace you are actually building somehting to reach your goal ala fantastic contraption (nevertheless it's not a physics based game). My vote: Flight Control Car Mania Harbor Master Draw Race Lion Pride This was tough for me because I think Harbor Master is better than Car Mania and possibly Flight control, but I enjoy the other two more. Although I haven't played the last two they are original enough to me that I wanted to vote for them.
Yes, but don't you think that'd be narrowing down the term "line drawing game" a little too much? We might as well split them into "animal line drawing", "plane line drawing" and "boat line drawing" if we're doing that. If you ask me, the term should apply to any game where your main interaction with the screen is for drawing free form lines. Not just games where you have to guide little sprites onto runways and into harbors.
Well, I guess I can't debate you on that, the title of the contest is line drawing afterall. Since the title is vague, then yes, trace should be counted and not arbitrarily omitted.
Trace is good for a free game and all, but I'd be very surprised if enough people vote for it in the top 5 even if its allowed.
