I just got Controllers for All to work, and I am wanting to know the games that work the best with controllers.
My picks: MHFU Space Marshals Transistor FF7 Geometry Wars Goblin Sword Shadowgun Tainted Keep Star Horizon Fahrenheit Counterspy Wayward Souls Inferno 2 Implosion is ok but i really hate how there isnt MFi support outside of mission.
I'm really enjoying the recently released Horizon Chase with a controller. Doesn't work for the menus though. @EP I haven't tried Wayward Souls with a controller. You like it better than the touch controls?
I dont really want to compare coz both are perfectly implemented. If anything, the MFi buttons are somewhat better than the swipe-to-use-specials command with touch, but both MFi and touch implementations are pretty much spot-on.
I burned out my controller batteries twice this weekend on Horizon Chase and Pac Man 256. The beauty of both of those is the touch controls are equally good, but I prefer controller. Transistor I think works better with touch, just about any platformer and dual stick shooter better with controller. Great list btw, EP, I also have to try Wayward Souls with my controller. I never got very far into it, even though I loved it.
I really love abusing the perfection the MFi controller analog sticks bring, so here are some of my favorites that abuse them. Some of these i may have mentioned in the previous recommends list already: Age of Zombies The Bard's Tale Bastion Beatbuddy Dark Echo Gene Effect Geometry Wars 3 Halo Spartan Strike (touch controls suck, but the MFi controls is perfect) Implosion (no MFi support on menus and equip screens, but the actual missions with the MFi are fantastic) Inferno 2 Minigore 2 Monster Hunter Freedom Unite Oceanhorn Oddworld Powerpuff Girls Defenders of Townsville (this has been pulled, but im hoping you already had this) Shadowgun Space Marshals Star Horizon Transistor Wayward Souls Xenowerk I hope you have a blast with your MFi controller Sonix!
Horizon Chase Downwell .Decluster Zero Rex Rocket, like Implosion, doesnt have MFi support outside of the main game. You'll need to use touch controls to navigate menus, inventories, maps, etc. Dust An Elysian Tale has its dev promising MFi support, since it already had a controller support from the original release, but he needs to translate those to the MFi. The free version of Mines of Mars has MFi support, and we're waiting for the MFi support update to hit the paid version as well. This is kinda annoying coz it feels like the paid version is getting ignored at this point.
Here are some i put on the wishlist that has MFi support. Obviously i havent tested any of these yet Octodad Battle Supremacy Evolution NBA 2K16 Adventures of Pip Asdivine Dios Premium Calvino Noir Devastator Mos Speedrun 2
What controllers is everyone using, what do you think and why? Iv used controllersfor all when I was jailbroken with a ps3 pad and it was ok. Iv thought of getting a mfi pad like the steel series stratus tho.
The best ones so far (based on TA review and Afterpad) are Horipad, Madcatz CTRLi, Madcatz CTRLi Micro, and the Steelseries line.
I can attest that these work great^ I'd also list MC5, Afterpulse and Geometry Wars 3. Btw, MOGA Rebel user here and even at the $80 USD price point I can't knock it other than the occasional disconnect.
Madcatz Micro C.T.R.L i is an excellent controller. I have been jamming out with mine all week! So GREAT! Most affordable controller on the market as well. Only drawback is the need for 2 AAA batteries. Which last about 30 gaming hours. I am using batteries, because I am abusing the crap out of this controller : )
Looks like it's time to bump this thread. Just picked up a Steelseries Nimbus for myself, and I know many games have been updated with controller support now.
Would like to add -PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX -LIMBO -Traps n' Gemstones -Dodo Master -EDGE Extended -Pixel Cup Soccer 16 -SBK16 --Crypt of the Necrodancer
