Yeah, I want to get a hold of some of the best Bible Apps to see which one rocks and which is not so good. I know they are a bit pricey, but does anyone know which besides Mantis offers good options for both word and study? cheers
No clue if they'll ever add study stuff but lifechurch.tv has one with a ton of translations plus user comments on passages. It's also free.
Thank you yes, I have been using that one and love the free selection. I suppose there are many options but finding the best is difficult.
well, spam or no spam, this is more of a games site, so in a way my search for bible software could be a bit of a spam to some. anyway, thanks for the help.
I like Scriptures. I have a Mormon friend and the religion fascinates (I wouldn't convert from Judaism, though, I just like to learn about it). I like Scriptures because it contains both testaments and other Mormon texts, including The Book of Mormon. One of these days I will finish The Book of Job (my most favorite bible story). http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=285887322&mt=8 $15
Laridian is working on a software package for the iPhone, and it should be far superior (better library and better pricing) to any offering right now. I would just get a free one for now and wait.
Standworks LDS Scriptures just came out with update today that adding pages to JS Manual for instance and changed grid view to an option and enabled scrolling navigation by default. Also Scriptures (readmyscriptures) Both Scripture apps are $15 but no need to use a $15 app unless you totally need highlighting and auto scrolling and probably you'd want to be Mormon too. Just use the free The Scriptures one if your religion is good with King James version of the Bible. Although it has been discontinued to be worked on due to LDS Church working on an official iphone app it's still has great search and nice hyperlinking with topical guide and bible dictionary.
I checked out the free Bible from the Mantis Company. It actually is a very nice digital Bible. Definitely worth looking into. I'm intrigued about the Laridian Bible. I'll be keeping my eyes out for that.
I found ESV Study Bible for BibleReader to be superior to all Bible apps in the AppStore, but it is "a little bit" expensive: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=297005727&mt=8. So if you want to know Scriptures better I recommend this investment to you Regards, f.
